Battle pets are items and giving blizzcon pets unique abilities is Pay to Win

I do participate in pet battles, and know you have no idea what you’re talking about

Aww, didn’t your parents ever tell you not to assume stuff…

Ok I tested in pve world quest. My undead pet does come back twice, after using the Mass Resurrection.

I mean you have 453 pvp wins in a system that’s been available for 7 years? You reference tier/meta lists which tells me that you put very little thought into anything pet related.

Well this is a new low. People taking pet battles seriously. Are you THAT terribad a Player that you have to find ego stroking in Pet Battles?

How the heck you even come to that conclusion? that just sound’s disingenuous.

I gave you that video to show you that you can buy Wow Tokens with real life money to turn into in-game money. You buy fake money with real money essentially.

Option to buy with real money to skip the grinding of ingame gold or “playing the game” and/or buying ingame gold with real money is microtransactions. Regardless if it’s Pay-to-win, gameplay affecting or cosmetic…

It's still microtransactions friendo.

If blizzard doesn’t want it to be taken seriously then why are they committing developer resources to it? This game has activities for everyone. just because you don’t enjoy something doesn’t mean a part of their product needs to exist under a flawed system.

I’m not sure where you’re getting that data, but It’s safe to assume it’s faulty, considering I got the achievement for 1k wins waaaay back in 2015

You mean, the truth?

And you can spend fake money on WoW tokens and turn them into Battlenet balance.

The exchange goes both ways. Hence, there is no paywall.

Good to know thank you for testing.

I challenge you to a battle pet battle!

My pikach… Errr battlepet cant be beat.

Well since you said money and gold are equivalent, lets do some math here.

It’s 20 IRL Dollars (using the USD for the sake of simplicity and getting the point across) to buy the token, you convert it into gold for 200k IG gold (or 183,344 but i’m using 200k just to make things simpler), …Then you buy the token with the 200k gold, and convert it into… 15 IRL Dollars in Blizzard Balance? Where’s the 5 dollars?

While i’l admit it’s cool idea to trade in game gold for real money (something that “Triple AAA” companies need to do more of so i can get better games), i’l gladly sacrifice that if it means having the option to buy gold with real money. Not to mention, the lack of microtransactions just makes the ingame stuff all the more rewarding and not make you feel like a chump for not shelling out 20 bucks for 499 rubies or whatever to skip the grind or skip “playing the game” to get a thing you want.

Would Spyro be a better game if it has an option to pay to unlock the perma fireball powerup from the getgo in Ripto’s Rage? No, infact, it actually has a cheat to toggle it on/off in Reignited Trilogy. Along with the Squid skateboard. (this is why i’ve accepted Toys for Bob as my new Hae-suess. (a fancy way of saying Jesus))

And how many people are using those battle pets nowadays?

Certainly not you and your 0 pvp wins.

You have always been able to buy gold with real money. This just made it officially-secured.

You can get all of the shop stuff with in-game gold. End of story.

Uh, that’s why I asked? But since you seem more intent on being unnecessarily hostile, that exposes your true intentions. You don’t actually care about battle pet PVP, you’re just raising a stink to cause trouble.

You asked an irrelevant question. My argument is that items that affect game play should not require additional payment outside of the game. It doesn’t matter if people no longer use pets they purchased.

Not worth it, Rankin. He has no real argument and just.likes to be condescending and insulting. People just need to stop responding and let this thread die.
