I wouldn’t even mind if they doubled up on some weeks, having two events per week, as they add more and more options. I’d go so far as to opt for three, being one PVP option, one Raid/Dungeon option, and one “Other.” Then, people are less likely to feel left out, when they only participate in one or two of the events.
There are definitely people who enjoy Pet Battle week, but I agree that it’s not exactly the most fun representation of Pet Battles.
I wish they’d change the quest to something a zone bar (similar to the Calling progress bar) that said, “Complete Pet Battle activities,” instead of just making the quest a PvP Pet Battle quest. I’d also be nice if it rewarded anima and Pet Battle charms instead of just a 25 level stone.
But then again, I also wish that they’d have two concurrent events at a time, a PvP event and a PvE event, similar to what happened a few weeks ago when they put Burning Crusade TW up at the same time as the Call to Arms quest.
I am going to start making threads complaining about mythic dungeon week and pvp week event time they come up. Give it a break the game isn’t designed just for you.
I’d kill for something like the Celestial Tournament again. That was the peak of pet battle content.
Yes. 75% of my time. 25% of my time is finding mounts and cute outfits.
It’s such a wasted week. I’m huge into pet battles and you will never find me battling other players for such a weak weekly reward.
MOST people don’t care for any particular week.
There is no content that the majority of players engage in.
Battle Pets have been in the game since before PvP. They just couldn’t battle.
Stop trying to bend things to fit your agenda.
Your logic that Pet weeks shouldnt exist because you don’t like pet weeks is the same as me not liking PvP so why should PvP weeks exist.
It’s WORLD of Warcraft, ie the world created in the Warcraft franchise.
I dont care about your opinion.
Pretty sure I remember an info graph from Blizzard showing they have more pet battles than dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds combined.
I snookered my girlfriend into playing WoW recently, and she’s really into the pet battles too. On my other character (that I’m actually doing Shadowlands stuff on) when we get something like “do 3 world quests in Maldraxxus” chances are those 3 quests are going to be the pet battle quest on 3 different days. Or 2 pet battles and 1 cooking quest.
I’ve still got 6 or 7 hundred pets to get up to max level, so I work the heck out of the 200% exp, even if I never touch the PvP battles for the week.
Just checked warcraftpets.com
, I’ve got 837 pets 168 max level, so 669 need leveling.
Sometimes you say the nicest things Meezah, consider yourself hugged my dear!
Yes its comparable, a lot of the player base hates pvp and avoids it so its useless to us.
Do the charm WQ’s in every xpac that has them. Go to BfA pet charm vendor. Buy the +25 stones … profit!
My biggest problem is that pet battle weeks do not give gear rewards or any interesting rewards beyond pet charms, if you could call that interesting. PvP weeks at least give honor which can be used to upgrade gear.
Agreed, if it was doing battle with a bunch of trainers or pet battle WQ over the course of the week, i’d participate. No way in hell i’m dealing with the pet battle PvP shenanigans though.
Even better… the quests in BFA and SL will scale the battle pets down to the level of your team.
Forcing an entire weekly quest on your entire playerbase that is Pet Battles completely ignores the fact that over 95% of your playerbase doesn’t give two flying damns about Pet Battles and avoids them at every turn.
This cannot be said for PVP, Mythics, Dungeons, or anything else in the game. If you avoid PvP then good for you, but Pet Battles are utterly useless, especially when the reward is weak af even for those that do do pet battles. Make this trash something that is a side event that people that care about it can accept instead of ruining an entire week for people attempting to actually get gear or upgrade gear that will be utilized in the other 99% of the game that isn’t these stupid a$$ pet battles.

Pretty sure I remember an info graph from Blizzard showing they have more pet battles than dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds combined.
I think people are missing this very important point. Not sure where it ranks today, but it was bigger than these other events combined, and people weren’t asking to have those removed. If I remember, it was even before the Pet Battle holiday was even created. Now I can’t find it. either.
