Could also just… not do the WQ if you don’t like it.
WQs pop up all the time, if you’re not capable of ignoring them then you have already been driven insane.
Not doing it wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t causing the Shal’aran portal to despawn.

Never ran into that, but once you’ve started the questline there are 8 different ports to Shal’aran, plus the Telemancy Beacon. It’s also the most reasonable place to set hearthstone, for quick access to daily NH. Not much reason to go in the top gate.
The portal disappears for me without clicking anything. When I get just out of range to click the portal, it will reappear. Very annoying.

the funny part is the portal is just above the cave entrance soo not much of a short cut anyway
At least it isn’t ‘like the wind’ blocking the portal, or the other entrance isn’t half way across the zone.
But WQ phasing borking things has been an issue since WQ appeared.
Happens to me too. Fly in to catch a portal, fat dwarf tells me barrels are better. Portal not present upon his fat ugly face showing up.

Dwarf won’t let you leave, forces you to play gambling game instead. This is the peer pressure mama warned us about. D:
But yeah, happens to me too. Weird bug.
And while I agree with people saying this particular portal being blocked is not a big deal and costs you 5 seconds at most, it still just … shouldn’t happen. XP

My favorite part of this thread is all the replies who clearly did not read the OP stating how they do not like the portal being phased out.
And then the people who don’t know that the default game behavior is to do exactly this and think it’s somebody’s addon doing this.
This is the one WQ from legion that I still don’t enjoy.

Okay I get not liking the game, but it’s not gambling in the slightest. It’s a 100% skill driven memory game.
Not even that. You can just use your cursor to follow the marked barrel and never fail it. No memorization at all and takes less than a minute.
Sometimes easier to find though…

The doorway is like 10 feet away.. 
hop up on you skyslider mount and zip on over. A few extra button presses wont kill ya.
I remember back in the beginning of Leigon you could cheese this WQ by putting a raid marker on the barrel to identify it easily.
they fixed that tho
