Bard or tinker for 13.0?

So tinker is self explanatory.

But Bard is pretty much the last bastion and DD archetype not in available as a class.

Well tinker too tbh, but we AT LEAST have eng.

So between the radiant song and lirath windrunner doing song song shenanigans.

What are the odds well get a curveball for 13.0 as the new class

I don’t think that bard fits well in wow

But they exist in lore. Again like lirath.

Hell even ETC.

Tinker is more likely.

Ulduar = Titans = Technology

Dagran II Thaurissan studying Titan technology in Khaz Algar = Big return in 13.0 where he’ll be the hero NPC of Tinkers.

I’d prefer tinker.

I don’t think bard fits well and I don’t think aug worked out well either.

I’ve been on team bard since the radiant song became a thing. Didn’t dare to dream until that happened. Then we got Sylvanas with a harp in memory of her brother Lirath who everyone will now know was a bard because of Windrunner’s spire.

That said, the real reason I want either bard or tinker to just exist is because that list/survey of “which specs added to existing classes would you like to see” has me afraid WoW thinks adding specs frees them from the established impression of every expansion needing a race or a class (or both) to be taken seriously. It doesn’t free them from that at all.

If I had to guess I’d lean tinker, it feels like support specs are a nightmare to balance either being near mandatory to take or useless.

Neither.

4th spec is at least being workshopped. The other two are pipe dreams.

I think/hoping for tank shaman i know thats probs not going to happen but i also think its going to be a 4th spec, Not a new class. New Tinkerer spec maybe? Not sure what class the would make sense with. Hunter? Hope they don’t do another Support..

Neither, players have been asking for both for decades so we will likely receive instead a secret third thing that no one asked for.

Probably some kind of “Order-mancer” tied to an equally un-asked for titanic race.

Would for me. I’d much rather have tank and healer specs added to various classes that don’t have them than an entire new class or race.

That would change if they were adding classes or races that people have been asking for, but they don’t do that so it’s either new specs or you get a neutral mechadwarf Ordinator.

Tinker would be so cool man, turrets for dps, mech for tanking, potions and vials for healing.

I’d go for Bard with heal/support/dps trees. The Tinker Blizzard ends up giving us to fit into WoW’s existing gameplay loops won’t be nearly as cool as people are imagining it to be in their heads.

That said I’d be pretty stoked if they added a fourth spec to each class instead.

I’d say their “radiant song” explanation does fit.

Also, there is a history of music driving people to fight harder. Back in Warcraft 3, the kodo units played war songs making an aura like that, and numerous “shouts” also seem to have similar effects. There’s also various horns and musical instrument items with potent effects on the soul.

The bard slots pretty well into it even without the world soul theming.

If they announced fourth specs for everyone can you imagine how long it would take? At the rate Blizzard does new classes/specs now it would take half a decade to push them all out.

Frankly, the “joke” version of the class one April Fool’s Day cold be a good version of DPS. It’d be that 80’s music video fantasy, of a lone metal head deflecting cop’s bullets by the sheer power of their rocking. We already know rock and metal exist in-universe as genres. THROW ME A SQUEELY GUITAR!

Bards aren’t any more likely now than they were during the last few years of tinfoil hattery surrounding the concept, and neither the Radiant Song, a single bard NPC, or a bunch of miscellaneous music-related bits and bobs are signs that they’re coming.

A proper tinker will never happen at this point. Instead, going by the plots of recent expansions, it’s more likely that TLT would add a tinker-adjacent class that weaponizes Titan, ethereal, and First One technology, which would then lead to complaints when it’s not the gnome/goblin mech pilot class that tinker supporters demand.

Warcraft has a long history of characters using technology in combat.

It does not have any kind of history of characters using magic music in combat.

We will get Tinkers, not Bards.

Only as specs.

Yep this is what I meant, people are imagining making their little gnome or goblin character who will climb up into his mecha suit firing laser cannons and calling down orbital strikes. That isn’t what we will get, it will end up looking more like the Brann delve companion. Fire off your boomstick, drop a few traps, throw a few health pot bombs around. It will be lame.

Bard I feel would be a lot easier to meet expectations, just settle it in thematically somewhere between Mage and Priest with some cool spell fx’s and musical sounds and cool instruments as weapons.

Both of whom are decidedly non-combatant musicians.

Even in HotS, ETC was just a Tauren Warrior who happened to beat people with a guitar, not a magical music wizard.
