Banned out of nowhere

Been back to WoW after an 18 year break, was 27 days into this account. 5 days ago I was hit with the issue many others had, “that action is currently restricted” where I could not trade, buy or sell on AH, or send mail, not even to my own characters.

I have zero clue why I would be flagged or why I was banned. I got my warrior to level 50 today and was so excited cause I also got Corporal from world pvp and got my insignia of the alliance. I got to Blasted Lands and started to quest when BOOM, logged out and get a message that my account has been permanently banned.

Go check my email, it says the nonsense about the hacks and cheating so I submitted a ticket. Prolly be stuck waiting several days before I hear anything but I don’t expect anything but an automated script.

I was really looking forward to doing some end game content again, and ranking up my pvp.

I know nobody is probably able to say anything that will realistically help me, but just in case anyone else is in the same boat after this AH trading policy that just got released.

It was really upsetting, I was doing quests and dungeons with friends and guildies most of the time I played and was able to reach one of them IRL and they were thankfully able to pass a message along to my new in game friends that I didnt die.

I was really enjoying the core group of people I was developing with and playing with. /sad

And with that, you’ve done as much as can be done. Posting here is completely pointless. No one here has any say in the matter, and even the Blizzard employees aren’t in any position to intervene.

You’ll have to wait for your appeal.

Ranting is not allowed on the forums. If you have an account question or need some clarification, you can ask in this forum. If you have a suggestion or other feedback, you can post it in the forum most closely associated with the topic of your feedback. If you find a bug in-game, you post it in the Bug Report Forum.

Freedom of speech doesnt apply here companies can set there own rules as they see fit for the forums.

They do care, but nobody’s done anything yet because you posted that after the people who staff this forum had gone home for the night when you posted it.

Don’t be surprised if it gets delt with quickly tomorrow morning.

You are conflating two entirely different issues, Silvanti.

I’ve cleared up the masked profanity, and all the spurious posts you made here - and elsewhere, but please don’t make that necessary again.

The account action had nothing to do with the restrictions. Appealing the account action would be the way to have that looked into.

Really? I haven’t been following this forum for all that long, but from what I’ve observed, people get valuable information from this forum all the time about a wide range of issues, including how to appeal a ban, what to expect, what not to expect, and (on occasion) some clarification from a moderator on the reason behind the account action. The suggestion that “posting here is completely pointless” only serves to discourage other players from asking for help. Posting here is NOT completely pointless. It can be very helpful.

I believe he was referring to posting here to get something overturned, Pooh.

And in that aspect, 100 percent correct.

Yeah, just wanted to highlight this. It seems every forum post just has people saying “shut up, we don’t want to hear about your issues, we can’t do anything.” But, I am really glad you posted this because I am dealing with the same issue and got ignored by Blizzard on my first attempt too. I will try to appeal it as well. Thank you for the post.

Your issue isn’t a ban, Nepsa - it’s this.

Account Restrictions on AH, trading, and mail in SoD - Support / Customer Support - World of Warcraft Forums (blizzard.com)

This isn’t an appeal issue - at all, nor is there anything a GM can do to address it.

I see, it’s a developer decision. Is there any way to contact them and ask for them to change it / make there a verification process for humans? Also, I’ve seen other people not get unrestricted after 30 days, if that happens to me do I contact a GM then?

If you read over the thread I linked, you’ll see that there have been some hiccups where it wasn’t always working as intended, and they are addressing those.

Also a link over to a thread in the SOD forums where one of our developers issued a statement. That would be a thread to express such criticism - constructively.

thank you for the replies an i apoligize for getting upset and cursing in my posts. its just really upsetting to be banned less than 30 days into my account. I recently bought this new wal-mart brand ONN gaming keyboard and mouse and downloaded the app for it so i could fix a few of the keybindings that were taking me to web pages making the mouse unusable. Is it possible that this app from ONN caused the issue?

Yeah, those keybinds are implemented outside WoW so their keyboard mgt app is probably responsible. If you can, exit that (or disable it from autostarting and reboot) and see if the keystrokes get through to WoW ok without that app intercepting them.

More detailed troubleshooting of this specific issue is better suited to a new thread in the Technical Support forum, which is specifically for issues like this.
