I wanted to name a toon Glitterdust but dust is blocked as mature. Disappointing.
We were told back in the day by Blizz that titles and proper names were banned right off the bat. Most other words/names generally were subjected to be reviewed and changed as other players were offended or caught something that slipped past the censor. As is noted in a few posts here, it wasn’t difficult for a guild or player to be forced into a change, yet you could find the same name or title on another server. So it would seem that names aren’t added to an overall blackout list until after banishment, keeping further people from enlisting the moniker.

I told a big fan of Rush that years back at a previous job. “For the longest time I thought Geddy was a woman.”
I mean, I wish I could time travel just to get a picture of his face when I said that. You’d have thought I had insulted his mother or something.
I just went back on to delete some bank toons and get some actual good names for them.
One name that surprised me that I just got… Female.
