I’m only posting this to see if it’s even worth trying. Two years ago, I lost my WoW account, one I’d had since the original TBC, after getting banned for griefing on Bloodsail Buccaneers, mainly targeting hardcore players. Most of it involved kiting Vulchan, Teramus, and Burning Steppes mobs into Elwynn, along with some scatter/FD on the Loch Modan flight path.
At one point, a GM (Aggrend himself) whispered me to stop, but I kept going. He even started perma-sapping the Uldaman mobs I was kiting with his GM toon. The next morning, my account was banned.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about writing an appeal to see if there’s any chance of getting it back, because I really am sorry. Has anyone here successfully had a perma-ban reversed?
He was actually leveling on his lvl 12 paladin, he barely survived one of my shadowforge diggers when I dropped it on him. About 20 minutes later I had a rogue that was perma stunning my mobs. It wasnt called sap. He was cc’n them with an ability that no normal player could use, it was definitely a gm doing it. I might be able to find screenshots on my old pc. You’re right though, it might not of been him and just a GM he contacted. He also started to reset them because I was pulling multiple at a time, which has never happened before in my last 3 months of doing it.
I’ll find the email, it specifically says it was for killing players on bloodsail, give me a second.
Action: Closure - World of Warcraft License
Violation: Targeted Harassment
The above game license has been closed following this violation of the World of Warcraft Code of Conduct and End User License Agreement: As the account holder, you are responsible for the activity associated with this game license. The abuse that took place was an unacceptable detriment to other players, the integrity of the game world, and the quality of our service as a whole.
I was wrong I could have sworn it specifically said why I was banned
i mean ive had perma bans reversed but they were false bannings. it sounds like you did the activity that got you perma banned. so, they arent going to reverse it.
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the matter, the focal point should be:
Simple yes or no question. In my experience, no. Not sure I have ever come across a situation where they have reinvestigated a matter where they concluded that the offending party was indeed guilty of what led to them being banned.
I got in trouble long ago for kiting stuff. All they did though was simply reset the mob after a GM talked to me in game and asked me to stop. Over 10 years ago.
You can attack mobs that are sapped though. And no GM would lock all those mobs because it would ruin it for all the other players.
And Blizzard said that doing anything that causes the death of any HC player outside of a Mak Gora or consensual PvP will lead to permanent account action if it is reported.
Your account can be closed forever if you do anything to grief any player in HC even if it is your first offense if any player reports you for doing it.
Well deserved ban for your real or fictional character.
I’d give you a 2nd chance though. You gotta do some community work. You gotta help 1000 ppl/groups killing those exact mobs you used to pull to kill em for free. After that you’ll be on probation. No 3rd chance.
that’s very black or white, people change and grow up, if no one is redeemable then there is no reason to be good because you’ll make a mistake and be sent to hell for all eternity anyway.
Maaaybe they got it out of there system but second chances aren’t off the table. and I’d like to see them screw up again to be honest haha, entertaining
about a year ago or so, i was falsely banned for botting/exploiting, got slapped with a perma, 2 weeks of appeals and they “reduced” my perma-ban to a 6-month suspension. Still havent gotten an answer as to why i was perma’d in the first place and why if i wasnt doing the things stated in the perma why i wasnt just unpermad and had to wait 6 month to play again. not sure that thought process, but it happened.
they can screw up on the account they are posting on.
i agree with second chances. the op has a second account. that is his second chance.
its not really black or white at all. that doesnt really apply to this situation.
i do believe that people can change, and that you should allow those people to show up as the changed person; that doenst equate to giving an account back, an account that was banned for a VERY valid reason.
furthermore, allowing people to change and show up as the changed person is honestly a life take, but this isnt life. its blizzard.
in addition to this, one could argue that second chances allow people to be bad knowing theyll get off scott free. its why RMT is so bad, because everyone knows youll only get a minor infraction, even tho its clearly listed as a bannable offense in the EULA. and fwiw, i think every RMTer should be permanently banned, like actually. swipers should be permanently banned and never be allowed to play this game ever again.
valid points, I’d like to see them banned from Hardcore permanently for sure. but losing all your wow toons can sting a lot and lets be honest, we play wow to cope with real life haha
