Ban by the auto bot?

Another sad topic. My account was suspended for one week for advertising in services channel.

I’m totally sure not spamming I’m pushing IO and farming gear. Only do it in between of keys.

I believe that it’s peer reporting. Blizzard really ban for advertising in service channel?

Nothing auto about it. It’s always reviewed by a GM before decided to apply a penalty or not.

Only takes ONE report. The number of reports don’t affect the penalty (if any).

Without knowing the actual reason listed in the account action email, it’s hard to tell you why. Either it’s spamming, posting across channels etc.

Did you happen to make LFG entries ‘selling’ your tanking/healing services too? If so, that’ll get you actioned.

I am not posting any LFG or spamming very much. As I said I’m mostly busy with pushing gear and rating between different toons and not in the city very often

So how could we offer in service channel? I can find the spamming meaning.

Just spamming a little?

If so, that’s still spamming.

Ban and suspension are two different things. A ban is permanent. A suspension will end.

If you are advertising in the wrong channel or advertising (spamming) too much, you will get reported.

Totally only in the service channel. Offering carry every 3 5 min in service channel won’t count as spamming I believe. Even one in 30 min in between the M+.

Depends if the channel is moving slowly, or you are the only one posting, it could very well be considered spam at that rate.

Good to know. But always keep in mind not to double saying words and often. I hope the suspending will remove soon.

It’ll be one week to the very second from when the penalty was applied, or unless you appealed and the penalty is overturned.

You were reported multiple times by your fellow players for inappropriate communication. Some examples include abusive chat, advertisement, spamming, or other communication that violates our code of conduct.

I hope they change the system for being keep report by another advertiser.

Why would they?

You don’t know who reported you. Doesn’t matter if reported by another advertiser, or just another player. If a GM investigating the report find an infraction, you’ll be actioned regardless. You won’t be actioned just from any ‘malicious’ or ‘mass’ reporting. It’s always investigated first.

You are right. We don’t know who did it. Some people are really hate seeing things from service channel. They did good way for us to do advertise and allow us to do but ban for the report at the same time.

Of course, if you breach the rules - same as any other chat channel.

I got a feeling it is not for what you think it is for. And if you have a week suspension, this means this isn’t your first time.

How ever, one of the Support Forum Agents can possibly shed some light in what might of been reported, though, if you think this action is a mistake, then you’ll need to appeal it via the account restrictions page. Nothing much can be done here on the forums except for pointing you in where you need to go.

If your advertisement was enough for your sanction, what you believe won’t have much bearing, I’m afraid. Even 3 - 5 minutes can be considered spamming, depending on how busy or slow the channel may be.

They use a template. There aren’t two separate ones if it’s one report or a dozen. The key factor is that you were reported.

And People believe they have seen Elvis, doesnt make it any more true. There is No Mass Reporting that results in action to ones account, there are no Auto Bots, nor are there Decpti Cons behind Blizzards reporting methods.

Hey Anhsang! I also got banned for the same reason, i was only advertising that i’m offering m+ carry and 1-80 leveling for gold. Got suspended for 1 week. Trying to appeal still.. Have no idea if it is forbidden or not to advertise in this specific channel..

They already have limit number of saying in one minute. We are far away from that limit and still get ban for advertising in advertising channel. There are thousands for people are spamming everyday and we’ve got suspended while everybody happily doing it.

To be uttlerly frank: Stop trying to act like what other people are doing justfy your own actions. You have zero idea on someone else’s account action and you have no means to look into it.

More to the point, akin to being pulled over for speeding. Just because you say someoen else is speeding means you’re allowed to. You was just the one pulled over in this case.

Were you advertising on this character? These transactions need to be done on a character that can complete the m+ runs. Beyond that, you can still be actioned for spamming too often.

Trade (Services) is the correct place for these advertisements, but it’s not (supposed to be) a free for all. There are other rules that need to be followed, too.

The spam throttle is not permission to spam immediately when the throttle drops off. There are still other considerations, such as how busy the channel is, how many others are active, etc.

First, you don’t know what is happening to their account. They may have been suspended multiple times for spamming. That they have not learned the lesson does not mean you can do it.

Second, someone else violating the rules does not give you permission to do so. This is true is every single aspect of life, from being a child to being an adult. Someone else’s actions do not excuse yours.
