I don’t agree it would fix a lot of things but, yes, AH addons should be banned.
Any addon that gives a player an in-game play edge over a player without the addon should be banned.

lol. dont need to ban it. Just throttle Cancel Scan to once every 5 minutes or so.
I’m fine with them making addons incompatible with the game. I think it would make balancing the game easier since the devs won’t have to balance around people having access to information that was never expected to be available in the first place.
Auction “bots” are banned. If you think TSM is that then you obviously haven’t used it.

I have 1.7 million worth of goods on the ah right now. I do a random cancel scan maybe twice a week. Otherwise, I just let my goods ride.
I still make bank, on a full pop server.
Banning ah addons wouldn’t change all that much for me, honestly. There are plenty of ways to get the info you need, without them, to work the ah.

These are the kind of post people make when they are angry they cant at least a million gold in their bag and mad at others success. There is still the Undermine Journal, good luck banning that.

I wouldn’t say it’s about creating valuable gameplay, but rather more interactive gameplay. I think addons that let people post or cancel in bulk (albeit retail doesnt even need an addon for this anymore) are probably fine, but all the addons that snipe and relisting for you the moment they need to are probably extreme this point and not actually an asset to the game.
And if we’re talking about good gameplay then the reality is these addons aren’t creating any gameplay, you’re just sitting your toon at the AH while you AFK watching Netflix or work or whatever.

Work orders are going to be a flop. Few people will want to park their gold in limbo on the AH waiting for somebody to give them what they want.
Just to help Op with ammunition , tsm has a desktop program currently against the boxing ToS as a way to ban them.
Carry in with the less automating the game.

I don’t plan on tipping a large fraction of my gold.
What about role-playing addons that help us roleplayers enjoy the game more? Can’t “get good” with that

Imagine not knowing automation occurs outside the game client. Hell it’d be funny if in a few years (if wow lives that long), people could have actual equipment (think homer and the drinking bird) that can do key presses on physical keyboards with their own dedicated single instance of wow. What’s blizz going to do in that case? It’s not like automation software or hardware duplication or even a camera exists to check if someone is playing the game.
