I wish you luck. Some people here think BM is just fine.
Iâd at least like them to not nerf things too far, MM was in a fine place before the balance changes rolled out in the anniversary patchâŚ
I feel like MM and BM feel wildly different, BM is all instant casts while you have channeled/casted attacks on MM.
Iâd like them to be equal at the very least.
I dont agree. I think balance is totally possible with the specs feeling different.
OP, while I generally agree with your point, blizz themselves created the problem by making so many different classes, specs, talents, abilities, modifiers, etc. They made the mess. There was no reason to so totally bloat up the game, but they listened to the small but vocal minority that equated âmore stuff to chooseâ with âskill.â Thatâs why the game is poop now.
With every stat being a mathematical value that changes every other valuesâ relationship to it when itâs adjusted, it is almost literally impossible to achieve mathematical balance. For that to happen would require homogenising the game to a degree that it became dull and not worth playing.
Feel free to share. Everything that looks like balance also seem to look like making things identical. Would love your insights.
Well, if we ever want balance, sounds like they will need to keep the best elements of each class, strip away the bloat, and figure out how to redesign them all from the ground up.
And here is the crux of the issue. We can either have true balance, or we can have true flavor. Having both appears to be impossible.
OP, youâre ultimately correct. The expansion everyone praises as the most balanced (MoP) was widely hated when it was current for a variety of reasons. One of them however being ability bloat and every class being able to do everything. Every class has some form of self-sustain. Every class had multiple forms of CC. Every class had varying forms of utility.
Thatâs what lead to the great ability purge of WoD. It was based off MoP feedback. Which everyone also hated btw, because now they were saying they didnât have enough for their particular class and everything was imbalanced. Blizzard at this point committed to readding abilities in Legion, but focusing on keeping class identity (a big selling theme of Legion) so trying to ensure there was some differences in classes despite them adding more to their toolkits.
So, people complained about balance again (with artifacts especially). Point being, yes, when they give the people balance, then classes feel very similar because they need to be capable of matching up to one another in all the unique scenarios WoW has to offer. Yet people also want classes to feel completely different from one another and unique to play, so itâs a pretty hard thing to do. Quite sure balance isnât really possible in a game like WoW these days.
Battlegrounds looked like some sort of stop motion animation because half the players were frozen at any one time.
Yeah, I recall the 10+ second CC chains in BGâs and even Arenas.
People complaining you canât even play your character, moment you move youâre frozen.
