Hi there!
Could anyone offer some insight on what the heck am I doing wrong when it comes to Balance? I need slapped! I’ve been a Druid healer for years but my guild asked me to go DPS this time around and I am complete trash at it.
I seem to fair okay in dungeons but in a raid setting, I don’t know if I am nervous or if it’s a lack of truly knowing the fights as DPS and how to do my rotation but I just can’t do it.
It’s so bad that I am not going to raid anymore (my choice) until I get better.
Maybe the logs can help my stupid self, any advice, wisdom, criticism is very much appreciated!
Ignore my healer trinkets, it’s all I have at the moment!

One thing to keep in mind is that balance, being a ramp up class, is rarely if ever gonna come out of the gate blasting (unless you’re talking purely single target with convoke and celestial alignment up). This basically means you aren’t ever going to wow someone who’s looking at meters early, especially in dungeons and on trash and whatnot.
There are a few key priorities that you have to follow to somewhat maximize your Dps, especially on trash. Keep starfall up always on trash, and once the trash all collapses on tank, sun fire to dot all mobs with one cast.
From there, make sure you are reserving enough AP to keep starfall up, and in lunar eclipse on trash spam starfire while keeping sun fire + starfall up. In solar on trash, that’s where it gets tricky but on packs that die fast it’s a very similar rotation.
Starsurge buffs your eclipses, so ideally you want to pool at the end of a trash pull and start a new pull with an eclipse that has 3 back to back starsurges to empower your entire eclipse state. Do not use starsurge ever outside of an eclipse, and don’t really ever use it towards the end of an eclipse.
These are the basics, but there’s more to it that maybe some more experienced / better boomies can shine some light on.
