Balance Druid Gearing help

Druids are strong in all content right now. PVP particularly so.

lol, lmao. Weren’t you the person who told me I knew nothing about classic druid? Ironic you’re struggling.

Druid’s quite strong right now. Balance gear with Feline Swiftness. Starsurge, Sunfire/WG, SotF runes. Strong damage, pretty good defense, high mobility.

Sunfire Feral is just a worse version of all that. If you want to play Feral, play Mangle and pick your fights.

…So? I’m making 15g/hr on my druid when I want to.

i was just kinda testing it out liked how it felt with wrath rune but other then that yea. still pretty much debating what i actually want to main. was decided on hunter but as usual so many damn hunters feel like i will have a hard time finding a group in general.

went boomkin for later phase not phase 1 but still kinda iffy on it. might go mage since im a long time mage main in general but we will see. just testing stuff out since mainly played HC in terms of classic and dont got much experience with vanilla in general as i started in cata.

Hi there. Spell damage gear>Nature’s wrath gear>arcane wrath gear>spirit>int

Hit’s important but most of what you need you can get from mana oils and gear upgrades that also has spell power on it

There are some slots which at level 25, do not have nature’s wrath. Put arcane wrath in those.

Int is not an important stat really, due to most fights not lasting long enough for you to OOM even with what little int you get from random pieces. The exception is maybe Kelris or Jett, but you still have free spells to cast when you’re OOM so it’s not a big deal.

For rings, get seal of wrynn and the silverwing sentinals honored ring. For necklaces, you don’t have great options until BFD drop, so wear anything with stats of any kind tbh. Unless you get lucky and get a world drop necklace with +int. I wouldn’t bother buying one on the AH. It’s like 40 mana for 70 gold or something, not worth it.

For pre-raid trinkets, you really just have the one from silverwing. Once you start to do BFD, it’s quite easy to pick up the quest trinket after the turtle boss. It’s +5 spirit so you can wear that.

Try to craft the new invoker’s stuff, mantle and cord, or get a tailor to do it. It’s pretty cheap and the shoulder item is currently BiS.

Have fun!

thanks i might reroll try a warrior or something but rn just kinda iffy still saving the druid though for later phases.

First did you get Starsurge yet? Most people death run over there. I got it at 14 and made lvlling easy. It’s over 50% of my damage. It’s really powerful for leveling and your rotation is based around that.

Next you can usually nab some “of the eagle” gear in AH that is Leather for Int/Stam.

Not many casters can compete with melee rn. Boomkin is one of the few breaking 100 DPS.

Where did you did you see struggling from druids being trash to play??? Its just trash to play literally spam 1 button like its legit stupid.

They’re boring and require zero skill. Literally NO skill at 25.

Run and spam sunfire, get them low pop star surge… So much skill so much wow

Mobility comes with shifting which you dont do right now. tell me you don’t pvp on druid without telling me. Even in all your “int” gear which will mostly be cloth you’re getting roasted by most classes. Druids that are NOT kitty sunfire spammers are literally Free hks right now at 25.

Probably OP next phase when we can build out a little better.

No you’re not. I am making a million dollars an hour right now while typing this.

Balance druid’s rotation is

Pre-cast wrath → Star surge (at 0 on pull) → sun fire → moon fire - > star surge → faerie fire → wrath → wrath → wrath repeat.

and in pvp there are like 3 different play styles you can run as a balance druid.

and 3 different builds ill get a free HK off you… Keep running them

hopefully not on a rogue, I eat them for breakfast

u must be fighting some horrible rogues

Tbf most people in classic are horrible.

druids gon be OP next phase along with rogue. People are not ready

Hi I did some math and figured out somethings.

edit: I made a slight miscalculation in my spreadsheet. Updated information to account for that.

Our bis can support a +arcane damage set but only if you are keeping faerie fire active in your raid.

Because Faerfire Fire needs to be applied every 4 12-secomd rotations, this lowers our wrath casts by 2 wraths per 40 seconds and 1 additional wrath every 40 seconds after that. This is just enough to make a +arcane BiS equivilent to a +nature BiS if you use the non-set cloth spellpower helmet.

For those curious I learned moonfire only becomes a better cast than sunfire if you have about 75 more arcane spellpower than nature spellpower. Which is never gonna happen.

Tailoring boots are bis that uses chest and helm for 2pc.
LTW gloves are only used on very short fights or if you don’t have world buffs.
+Nature Cloak/boots if not using Faerie Fire.
+Arcane cloak/boots if using faerie fire.

For non-tailors the best gear has 2 sets that are only a 1.25 damage difference per rotation for nature set up and for arcane set up you only really want to use set 1 if you can just because the difference between set 1 and set 2 for arcane is much larger.

Set 1 uses 2pc using chest+boots and +9 nature/Arcane cloak*

Set 2 uses 2pc using helm+chest and +9 nature/Arcane cloak and +11 arcane/nature boots.

For most people you’re going to just gravitate toward whatever set you can get your hands on, but if you can nab that cloth helmet then you’re going to be a little better off. The difference between the two sets is quite minor so don’t take that helmet from a clothie if you have the set helmet already and they have no helmet.

Balance druid is incredibly easy to gear for pre-raid so you can use this set to fill in items before you walk in. Just remember to bring mana potions. Engineering items are there only if you are engineering. If you’re not you can leave them blank. Spellpower truely is king. You can also find staves that have +16 spellpower on them. Use whatever is cheaper. (the staff is technically better because you can enchant it with 3 int )

If you in a pug environment you may find the need for more intellect higher than most balance druids due to fights taking longer than normal and thats okay. You can fill in with items from shadowfang keep as needed for that until you get raid pieces that have both spellpower and int.

Tl;dr +nature is bis for not using FaerieFire. a +arcane set can be equivilent to +nature if you keep faerie fire up in the raid. The amount of damage per rotation that +arcane beats +nature in this situation is so small that it does not matter. But just know that you can run +arcane without a damage loss per rotation if you keep FF up.

Final note here also is that crit rng can make either set up come out on top.
