Because they didn’t communicate it. It was slipped into the PTR without a word.
And this is the real problem. It’s a luxury item that’s being taken away for the sake of milking whales. That’s some EA level predatory game design, and it’s not “outrage culture” to expect better of a game company some of us have supported for two decades.
Absolutely agree.
combine that with the fact that they can and will nerf anything and everything into dust as they see fit…my hunter pet, for instance. Or TAKE my hard work from me…the striders WWing, for example…and they leave me not trusting ANYTHING they say or do.
Why on earth would I clock in at 8am to put in a hard days work knowing before hand that my boss can cut my wages in half at any point during the day without telling me?
I wouldnt. And I wont.
Im not working for ANYTHING in this game ever again beyond the most trivial of things, such as the MoP farm and tiller rep.
Beyond that, no thanks. Not when they can just rip away my work any time they feel to.
Exactly. I was there for the release of the original warcraft. Ive played it to death. My wife has…her brother has.
I have a stack of blizzard and Activision games somewhere around here that go back to the 90s.
They got my money and I used to trust them both.
I understand they are in this for the $$$. I get that part. Theyre a business.
But I run a business and my first rule is…DONT SCREW CUSTOMERS OVER.
Clearly I need to teach blizzard and activision a thing or two about business etiquette.
It was datamined and then confirmed in a blue post. All well before 8.3 is even here.
So what, you are mad dataminers found something before an official announcement?
Might as well be mad about everything then, because it all leaks before the official blue posts.
True. Key word luxury item. I don’t need it, so I won’t be buying it.
Have you played FIFA 20?
You can spend $50,000 on packs and not open a Messi or Ronaldo. $500 from a whale, EA laughs at your comparison.
On a serious note, EA introduces gambling mechanics in their games, which is the real predatory design. I don’t see anything malicious about Blizzard simply having an expensive mount in the game.
You know how much it costs, you either buy it or you don’t as the consumer. If Blizzard wants to try to force you to make a decision and maybe sway some people that were on the fence by introducing a deadline then so be it.
It’s not like they didn’t leave you adequate time to farm for it if you are someone who wanted it.
So, quit whinging and being outraged on the forums, and go farm some gold.
(or mow some lawns and farm some dollars, it’s probably faster)
The gameplay of having it available at all times when I have five million gold available to the gameplay of not seeing it for months and paying double.
Its rarity will not only be much higher but also you will be seeing it go from 5 mil which is a huge feat for a lot of players to gold cap which unless you play the AH a lot is going to be out of sight.
What reason is there to remove it from the vendor?
Duh. If nothing else its a pretty blatant cash grab.
I’m still not mad about it, feel like you have been left plenty of time to farm the gold or the cash if it is something you really want, and anyone complaining is just bored and wants something to be mad about.
Yeah, I think even working a shift at McDonalds is faster than farming gold, let alone a job that pays halfway decent.
If I actually wanted to farm 5 mil gold in game for whatever reason, and assuming I couldn’t sell carries, I would definitely just do my farming IRL and buy tokens.
Ok, so you don’t play Overwatch so you don’t have an opinion it.
You don’t play EA games, but you do have an opinion on those.
And it’s ok if a company makes money as long as they don’t use skinner box tactics and it’s a game you play unless it’s a company you don’t like already, in which case you don’t have to play the game but you’ll still have an opinion on how they shouldn’t do that.
I’m just making sure I’m getting this very narrow thread of responsibility you’ve carefully constructed to avoid having to admit that Blizzard is pulling a scummy money-grabbing move so that you can continue to tell us how drearily above it all you are.
I do have that right?
Second time you’ve told me bye, but you’re still here. Are we playing the last word game now?
