The excessively large amount of camping that is happening on the Classic servers, you canāt go anywhere without 60s camping, in MC gear.
I see. Well on Fairbanks, you certainly can go many places. I would expect that to be true on literally all servers.
There may be some places, specifically higher level areas, with higher level PVE content and material gathering spots where having competition in numbers slows progress.
Every part of Stalagg is camped by horde, hell Iām surprised it hasnāt turned into another Flamelash.
This is inaccurate.
Come over here and see. If youāre an alliance in a contested zone youāre going to find yourself dead wherever you want to quest. We are one of the most horde heavy NA servers.
I have. I spent several hours on Stalagg, walking around the world, and speaking with people. It was a top contender with where I was going to reroll. I ended up on Fairbanks, as I found a good guild, and it seemed to need a little more help, as the Alliance guilds of Stalagg seemed to be starting to organize pretty well.
You do realize that it is in no way every part of Stalagg that is camped, donāt you?
Every viable area, yea thereās corners of places that you can maybe farm some mobs, but you come out of a city, go to any questing area, dead, try to farm some max level mats, dead, try to go to a max level instance, dead, try to go to even a mid level instance, dead.
Thereās just a lot more 60s and theyāre all bored.
What does this mean?
Iāll put some context into this:
I am also on a faction disparate server. Yesterday, I wanted to do some attunement quests. I knew very well that trying to start Ony attunement required spending about 10 to 20 minutes questing outside in the Burning Steppes. Thatās not something that I would expect to be able to do solo, nor even with a party during most times of the day/week, of course.
However, I woke up at 4am on Saturday morning, and found a couple other people who had the same plan. It was possible to do.
Were I to expect that I should be able to solo quest in the Burning Steppes during peak hours, I would also expect that I should have the ability to opt out of PVP.
Now, when you say ācampedā what precisely do you mean? Perhaps I have a misunderstanding, but I tend to think of it as being either one of two scenarios:
Corpse camped: someone kills me, and hangs around my body to repeatedly kill me, everytime I rez.
Area camped: someone hangs around a particular area, and does not leave that area.
Area camping is incredibly easy to deal with: If solo, go somewhere else. Otherwise, gather a group, engage, do your business, and move on.
Corpse camping is something that I would imagine people would dislike. Personally, there has only been 1 incident of being corpse camped for me, so far, while leveling. It was in STV. A lock and myself were questing on a Saturday afternoon. Two rogues and a priest, all 5 to 7 levels above us killed us, and the highest level (rogue) corpse camped us a bit, until we were able to kill him, and we moved on.
Iām not trying to say that none of these things happen, because I have not experienced them. Iām trying to ask for precise details, because I donāt think we mean the same things when we say, āall areasā or ācampedā etc.
Anyone with a lick of common sense knew classic PvP servers were going to be hell. I played exclusively on PvP servers all the way up until WM was introduced and I had originally planned on playing on a PvP server for classic. I even made a shaman on Herod and got her up to lvl 12 the first few days after release. But after seeing the MASSIVE amounts of people playing, the insanely long queue times, and all the new servers that had to be added in order to accommodate all the players I left that server and ended up over on Westfall. Honestly, a person has to be either dumber than rocks or naive as hell to have not seen this mess coming.
I woke up at 4am
You had to wake up super early to get something done, that is not an option for most people.

Depends on whatās going on, this OP tried to do that, they saw that STV was camped, went to a different area for their level and that was camped too.
Thereās probably SOME areas out there without a huge horde presence but they may be useless to try and level in.
that is not an option for most people.
Iād highly doubt that. And if not, then there are clearly options.

Having rerolled and leveled so far solely during phase 2 on the lesser populated side of one of the highest population, worst faction imbalanced servers around, my opinion is that (as I ride through Winterspring, solo as a holy paladin), the issues are exaggerated.
More whines please. I love seeing whiney I canāt play posts.
waking up early isnāt an option? i wake up earlier than that almost every day. XD people will do things to get stuff done. waking up a few hours early on a day that most people donāt work is not something unspeakable.

Not to mention that itās a very common thing to do for a lot of other hobbies, like Hockey, camping, fishing, hunting, visiting family (if thatās a hobby), etc.
At least in my opinion, it adds to the experience of playing on a PVP server. Things are kind of difficult, and you have to think outside of the box. I also ended up playing for 8 hours! with the 3 other people I grouped up with for the attunement quests. It was a lot of fun, and a great way to waste a Saturday morning.
Screwing with your sleep schedule can have negative impacts on your health.
even on pve servers itās better to be up earlier than most of your server because you can get quests and stuff done that if everyone was awake youād have to wait a long time to complete them. like the other morning around 3am my time i did the quest line before you get the deadmines quests and even then he had been killed before my group was able to kill him. i canāt imagine trying to do that at like noon or something when everyone else is playing.

Then donāt do it. Nobody is forcing anybody to role on PVP servers. Nor to roll on PVP servers, and expect to or compel themselves to complete PVE objectives during peak hours.
Getting up at 4am to do ony attune is next level commitment.
i get up almost every day earlier than that. and sleep earlier as well. and i have had no ill effects. i seriously doubt doing it a couple of times to get attunement quests done is going to hurt you in any way.
