B.net chat not working in game

Hi there,

So, my friend is on the trial version on WoW, and the bnet chat client works in the desktop app; however, he cannot receive those bnet social messages in-game. (Text messages, not voice chatting.) Direct whispers to his toon work normally. Is this because of the trial version or is there something buggy going on here?

This would be part of the trial restrictions that we have listed here. This part in particular:

  • Whisper your friends <- Only friends added by character name. Blizzard and RealID friends will not show up and chat won’t appear from them.
