Turtle WoW is a Classic+ private server that implements changes more on par with the general consensus of what Classic+ is supposed to be, rather than the retail minus we ended up with on Season of Discovery.
Many classes have just a few changes to them, exemplifying the lightest touch necessary to bring certain specs into greater use.
Many undeveloped zones are developed, and new raids and dungeons have been created.
Just say it OP, you think anyone from Blizzard uses these forums?

My criticism is some of the class changes went overkill and thats bad design. There are many neat things they did in world, but system and class changes in turtle are not great.

It’s been a couple years since I’ve looked at their changes list.
When I looked at it some years ago, the changes were just the right touch and nothing extra.
Maybe they’ve experienced some creep since then.
I personally refuse to play the 1.12 client, so it’s not for me. Their Unreal engine offering might be a different story.
Unreal engine is what I’m waiting for

What do you expect, Blizzard lost all their talent because of corporate greed.
POE 2 is amazing compared to D4. No bugs, just works, and plays very well. The dev team is tiny for POE 2 and the game is amazing and has tons of content.
Blizzard has thousands of employees and we get SoD, a disaster of an attempt to continue classic. Full of bugs, not in any way like Classic, crazy changes no one asked for, and it ended up a failure.
I have zero hope for Classic Plus at this point.

The Nostralius story is well known.
I wonder how many people would be able to stand up to the legal heat that was coming Nano’s way if the Nost team hadn’t backed down from their post-Nost ventures.

It wasn’t really the legal heat. It was the private detectives Blizz hired to stalk and harass these people.
But turtle has been around many years. It’s not going anywhere.

They after this need only changed the names of all the stuff to no longer be “World of Warcraft” and its tough luck for blizzard on that one.
At that point 100% of the assets are different and Turtle became its own game. Commendable because building your own game client is a lot of work, even if you’re using the UE5 engine.
