I wont ever go to Blizzcon anyway, not just because of the prohibitive cost (Blizzard still refuses to host or organise or even CONSIDER an OCE version of Blizzcon) but because there is nothing there worth seeing.
Something young people (and apparently some older people) need to learn, and learn fast, is that nothing is free. If you downloaded an app “for free” then you are paying for it in one way or another.
It’s just business. Freedom isn’t free either BTW. Everything has a cost. If you’re not willing to fight for something, then someone else will and you may not like their cause.
People always need an excuse to fill their paranoid delusions while blocking telepathic intrusion from Aliens who are monitoring our thoughts from the dark side of the moon, and relaying that information back to the planet Nibiru as it ready’s to crash into us.
Right - tell that to the Chinese people when their jokes on private networks gets them cut off society or jailed.
Tell that to people in England whose murder rate is skyrocketing because Police are too busy policing naughty jokes on twitter.
Give me a break. You damn right Freedom isn’t free and it’s paid with blood and only blood and the moment you give up your freedom and privacy is the moment people are going to be killed again.
So reminding people’s the dangers of giving any form of power too much power and control over personal lives is a bad thing?
Just because a BK or Blizzbrand ambassador goes on reddit and says iTs bEeN dEbUnKeD doesn’t change the fact that the app wants permissions that are FAR beyond “verification of your ticket and nothing else”
As many have pointed out in this thread, the warning signs are right there in front of you. If you still want to be a fool with your data privacy then go ahead.
Nope. For the one the App is required for. The Anaheim Convention Center (where BlizzCon is located) requires the AXS app for anything taking place there.
Its not a direct Blizzard decision. Its a venue decision.
So if Blizzard were to design their own app for BlizzCon, that means they can’t use the venue in question. There are only so many places they can have BlizzCon at.
