spit is very offensive, moon is very offensive, the list goes on and on.

Blizzard, as this discussion makes clear, it is time to remove emotes.

Excellent Reply!

This wonderful reply puts to shame supporters of /whistle and deniers of toxic masculinity.

This is bad. Even by your standards.

He was born in the bit. It shaped him. Molded him.

True, but it wouldn’t be virtue-signaling to remove it since it is offensive to everyone equally. Things that can mostly only be perceived by women as offensive are the main issue for most of the big names in entertainment out there.

What is funny is I bet these people that complain about things like that in game watch shows like South Park, American Dad, etc. People today just need to find something that really doesn’t bother them but turn it into an issue.

All you have to do is read a few replies to see what this issue is really about.

I never said they were going to kill me though. Damn. My whole point is that harassment and actually putting hands on someone to do
 whatever
to them aren’t the same thing. Harassment doesn’t have to be physical.

Your whole idea is that something can’t be harassment until you are physically, without a shadow of a doubt, in danger. Harassment can be something as “simple” as bullying or intimidating someone, which I would argue is what was being done to me in these situations. Once more: it wasn’t just one wolf whistle lol.

Was I stupid? Maybe. I was also in my early 20’s and needed money. Sue me, dude, you’re edging real close to: “You deserved it” territory. How about people just don’t act like creeps in the first place? Of course you wouldn’t know what not behaving that way is like. I wonder if you run your mouth off your computer like you do on here, because damn Professor CHUD, you know it all, huh? lol Blah blah blah, the mask came off the very first time you responded to me.

Yes you did.

My point was that it’s a very slippery slope to equate a wolf whistle, to someone drunkenly shouting at you, to someone stalking you. Very slippery indeed.

I don’t claim to know it all in any sense of the such a statement. Having said that, I know enough that when I see people like you equate something as harmless as a wolf whistle, something that has even been used positively between couples, to something as terrible as sexual harassment to call that out for what it is. Straight up BS. How bout you accept that there are some grey zones between the black and white.

Having said all this, we have no idea why they changed /whistle. For all we know Danny the intern accidentally deleted the file so they quickly threw together a few new whistles. If they did remove it because of it’s “offensive” nature, then I call them hypocrites given some of their blatant new /silly jokes as well as the fact that things like /moan and /sexy are still in the game.

The whole pc/sjw culture is really what causes alot of the issues. Individuals get jelous over how others look. If someone is getting more attention then others, they claim that its sexiest because there not getting that attention because they fail to admit that they want to have it to. Like alot of youtubers and sites have mentioned. Get woke go broke. With wow there slowly testing out the reaction to each change that happens. Personally if players don’t get upset by this whistle change. It then signals that other changes can happen. It’s like saying give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. It can also show that others at blizz offices are pushing for changes but not being public about it. In fear of shareholders and executives finding out. It’s more of less trying to keep things under the radar. We are at the point were they are pushing to change things. Gotta ask yourself what else can they be pushing for?
If anything we need to find out the email or contact info for the executives and voice ourselves. Or even activ information. This is just the starting point of censorship , it will get worse if this keeps going on. But honestly if you get offended by a /whistle emote in game. Your taking this game way to serious.

You entire conclusion rests upon you assuming things in my statement and experience that never happened. I never said they were definitely gonna kill me. At most I said that, “Hey, you never know.” because uhh
 you don’t. You literally don’t.

I also said it wasn’t “just” a wolf whistle. Do you think I walked by, there was one whistle, and that’s it? No. I explained above in more detail what more commonly would happen.

You’re trying to tell me that I said things that I never said, meant things I never meant, and didn’t experience things that I actually experienced.

Why am I not surprised that your entire tactic has just been one huge gaslight attempt?

I said this another thread a while back but to me the change is even worse. While the other may have been a catcall, the new one more or less sounds like you are whistling for some fine honey to come sit on your lap.

Now I’m emotionally manipulating you? Really? I don’t even know you

You were the one who insinuated danger to a fatal level. I took you at the words you used. That’s not my fault, that’s yours.

You equated catcalling to wolf whistle in your posts. Then you brought up your French Quarter story to validate that catcalling is in fact harassment. You inserted into that story a level of danger that insinuated mortal peril.

And I’m calling you on it. That’s it. Let’s not try to blow a wolf whistle out of proportion and accept that there are grey zones to all forms of human interactions. Can wolf whistles be inappropriate? Absolutely. Can wolf whistles be completely appropriate? ABSOLUTELY. What’s not appropriate, is forcing the rest of us to abide to your own personal opinion of morality.

That borders on arrogance.
