I am not white knighting jack. I hate Blizzard as much as anyone, I am simply saying insulting people for telling you that you don’t have to do content you don’t enjoy is a bad take. Mythic Runners and raiders use the same excuse. There is enough content for everyone to enjoy what they want to do. I think it is a bit of a chore, but it isn’t difficult so I don’t mind it too much.

It wasnt required either, I dont get the complain. It give plenty reputation. If I can do this on an evoker, anybody can do it
I think you should just be able to talk to the guy and speed up the waves to your comfort preference.

Being able to skip to the last 5 waves, or a tier system for it like with delves would be a nice option.
Some waves are just those little round robots. You could let a pack of them chew the dwarf for an hour and he still wouldn’t be in danger.

It’s just a weekly rep chore and a chance to get the mount, that’s how I see it. Takes a bit, but it’s simple. Perhaps they’ll tune/tweak it as the xpac goes on. It’s there, enough people like it, it is what it is.

Its not that bad, and you get to do the weekly along with it. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
It’s not optional because it’s the only way to get one of your 4 weekly delve keys

Nope, it’s 100% optional.
You do not need to do the content if you hate it. You can work around having one less Delve key, because Delves are also… optional.
If you’re a PvP player or an M+ player, or a raider, you can skip Delves completely. Obviously it can be another source of gear if you want to do them, but they’re by no means mandatory, especially if you’re a PvP player.
If you want to know the difference between optional and mandatory content, look no further than Shadowlands. M+? Optional, if you don’t enjoy it, you can just not do that content. Raiding? Optional, if you don’t enjoy it, you can just not do that content. But Torghast? That was mandatory, because the only way to get your legendaries, which you 100% needed no matter what type of content you chose to do, was by grinding torghast for the materials needed to forge said legendaries.

I only do it for the chance at the mount. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t bother.
For most thats probably the case.
If you weren’t raiding or doing m+ you didn’t need anything, you’re not even playing endgame so that analogy falls apart
This week that zone is a double fail. The weekly super quest is just garbage.
Farm elites that drop 1 item and you need 15 total but some elites don’t drop it. On a low geared char that needs that chest, this is just trash content.
Then the Awakening the Machine…no challenge at all and just boring content.
Don’t get me started on how one of my alts ALWAYS gets trinkets from every chest he opens and all these trinkets are garbage…

It’s interesting that you’ve been telling people to not comment unless they have something “useful to say” but try to tell people to get out of your thread when you have absolutely zero power or authority to do so. Isn’t that considered useless?
That being said, it does drag on for far too long. The first 5 waves in particular could be added to the others and not make a noticeable difference for either of my primary characters.
But they might have it intentionally weak so that fresh/ungeared characters can make some progress. If so, it would be nice to have a harder and faster challenge version available.

To be honest, I don’t understand the point of this scenario. It was challenging the first time, when I was in junk green gear right after I hit 80. But it doesn’t ever change, nothing is ever added to it, it’s just the same faceroll thing every time. I already got the mount drop from it, so I don’t really see the point in continuing to do it week after week.
I think it has some minor use. My wife for example had been away for a while and was a good on-ramp to learn how to play again.
Initially, she thought it was challenging and now its on easy farm mode for the weekly chance at mount for her.
I have the mount, so now it’s just a 5 min rep thingy.
