This is the same company that has a “hands off” policy in regards to player abuse, where if you so much as type one word in response to a jackhole threatening you, they will do nothing to intervene. Even if you have screenshots and such.

They can’t get sued for anything because we agreed to it by using the forums, and not enough people use the forums for it to affect the game too negatively if people realize how bad this policy is.
Basically they’ve ensured that the forums can be regulated as little or as much as they feel like, and nobody can do anything about it. It’s actually a great idea, if you’re a sociopath.

I mean. They don’t really do anything to discourage toxic behavior in game either. (In some cases actually encourage it)

It’s a cost-saving measure. Managing any aspect of the community requires paying people to do that, so they automate as much as possible, neglect the rest, and set the ToS to cover themselves for when this ends up the only way it was ever going to.

The more I think about this stuff the less I really question why WoW’s community is the way it is.
What drives me nuts though is that only really toxic behavior in the community are going to benefit this. Take the OP for example, not the MOST toxic thing but that guild does not deserve this at all. Meanwhile we have an ACTUAL guild Alliance side who I am sure at this point all or most know about that do police and harass RP but no one talks about them because no one has to talk about them.
Cancel culture is stupid and the wrong people use it for the wrong reasons and Blizzard does nothing about it.

Its sad really. Look over at FFXIV, its proof that you can both be financially successful and also cultivate a good community.
Problem is Blizzard is now no different than Activision. Thus the only thing they care about is squeezing out every last cent they possibly can while cutting as much cost as they possibly can.

the only thing I’ve ever seen anyone get knicked for on this forum is using sexual language, even as a joke. Or well, I guess the proper term would be using euphemisms to bypass site word filters
