Thank you for putting the insignia toy so up front. I still forgot to get it but that’s my idiocy. It would be nice if he told you where to find him later; I don’t do names very well and all of these dwarves look alike.
The broadest complaint I think I have is that you have given no context for people to know what is important, what benefits are to be gained, who should or should not do what to avoid being kicked by ignorant people, and so forth. For example, when I did AV new as a tank I tried to take a mine so I could get that quest done. I was kicked and debuffed for 15 minutes for being “AFK in mine.” If you have quests that are actually getting people kicked for trying to do them, there’s a problem.
Things you don’t take into account:
-
Stealth take mines. Tanks and healers belong on the front lines and should not even have the quest available. Stealth take the mines because you’ve put so many bloody trogs in them and made them so lethal it takes the entire game’s time for anyone else to get through that mess, find their way to the “boss” there, who looks identical to all others except for a nameplate, without aggroing everything and dying, etc. Same goes for snagging rams – if no one thinks there is a benefit they won’t do it, and the few that try will get ridiculed, kicked, or whatever. I have never once in my decade of playing this game seen whatever is supposed to happen when you get – however many ram hides you need: I still have zero clue and this is part of the problem. We need an adventure journal for BGs: I’m sorry, I pay to play your game, not Google it. Tell me the rules already. I’m supposed to guess that the flag doesn’t appear on the map for 45 seconds in WSG, for example? Glean it from the aether, perhaps?
-
Players, but especially healers and tanks, are wondering constantly: will getting a ram/going north and turning in when they need a tank for XYX do us any good or will it take a tank/healer off the field and help lose it for us?
There are so many priorities you’ve no focus, and so of course we don’t either. You want healers soloing mines? Why? Healers don’t belong in mines anymore than tanks do. -
There are too many quest turn-ins for the storm crystal/ivus bit. In Ashran you added a “TAKE ALL MY FRAGMENTS” option and that needs to be here – that is ALL that needs to be here. Why would I give her one and keep one? What, really? I have to open my bag and see how many I have before talking to her so I pick the right option (1 or 5, or two 1s and 2 5s – why are you having me do this in a battle again? TAKE ALL MY CRYSTALS. One option. By the way, you could not have hidden these druids any better in a tiny little alcove off the north bunker, but that’s the way it was and is and I get that.
-
If people need to play for YEARS like I did to get the nuances from word of mouth and so forth, because they aren’t journaled in the game, they will just zerg and that’s what always happens. For example, my swiftness potion works just fine carrying the flag in WSG, but in the Pandaria “kitchen sink” flags and carts BG it will let me use it and hose me out of the benefit of it. What, carts are heavier, was that it? Who knew you cared so desperately about realism? I kill four fathom rays and get fathom ray flesh from one of them.
Your awful rez timer problems are still present:
- Res timer appears when you die before you release but doesn’t work even if you do manage to be fast enough to hit it. It obviously could/should be programmed out after 15 years. It confused me for a long, long time.
- If your body is on the GY you literally stare at two competing res timers, and for no listed reason if you go to your corpse you wait the full two minutes, probably because GY behavior hasn’t been applied outside the GYs for whatever reason. A journal entry to explain would be swell.
- Res timer still goes up to 30 even though Ashran is 15 and smaller. The WoD team admitted 30 seconds (much less the ludicrous 2 mins in war mode where ganking and corpse camping is such a huge factor) was too long and made it 15 – what, you changed your minds? Or just forgot it was 15 for Ashran and don’t care about consistency across your game to keep new players, you know, sane?
- This needs a visual refresh like now. You did the other two OG BGs, AV is still ugly as sin.
