A disappointing experience, to say the least. If I wanted gameplay to simply be grinding a currency as fast as possible I’d go back to retail.

You are right about the zerg but people will only do AV till R14 because it is the best honor per hour. Doing anything else will get you behind. They just need to amp up the WM’s dmg per tower up.

Your making things up, probably only played 1.12 on pirate realms… The original AV was as I said, no further talking to you about this topic that you obviously lack knowledge about.

The 1 AV I’ve done so far the Horde “won”. We killed Van 1st but the alliance got 3.9k bonus honor while the Horde got 500. Who was the real winner?

Was going to say winning AV is about defending towers and GYs. But if this is the case then it really makes defense feel less important. At least on Retail its pretty hard to down the boss with even 1 tower left standing.
Defense has always been what ive enjoyed the most about AV. Defending and backcapping towers/GYs and slowing down the enemy as they push toward the base camp.

I think the reason is the match rewards.
If they dropped all current match rewards people would start to PvP again.
Better yet, make it so that the reward for winning is you get double the honor you earned during the course of the BG. That way you’re still incentivized to win, but also to PvP.

Just got out of a match.
According to the summary screen, it lasted for 7 minutes.
Horde had just 2 HKs.
Alliance had 9 HKs.
Horde won by pulling Vann and the marshals to the front step, causing Vann to reset, and then killing him once the marshals were dead.
what classic is a pvp first game tho
No, I never qued as a raid and we were great! Problem is it appears Van and Drek are to weak, they need to buff them both by 50% marshals too!

Nope - PvP was literally added in as a late afterthought before Vanilla launched in late 2004. Since then, it has done nothing but ruin & limit the potential/scope of the PvE game as it does in every MMORPG that tries to introduce PvP, due to the watering down & homogenizing of everything for “PvP balancing considerations”.
