To be fair, back in 2019-2020, all the bg’s were popping and it was fun because you’d run into gamers solo queuing on either side. Idk where those people went

that’s fine then. the only real solution is to revert these changes instead of making more changes and causing more problems
Only reason why i agree with OP is cuz of the problem (not his solution). That and this post was created way before the the changes went Live so it’s a good “told u so” to blizzard
At this point there is nothing blizzard can do to try and fix the player created issue. Players will always take the path of least resistance. There just isnt a large enough pvp player base to to make all bgs pop. I guess be happy at least AV pop’s on a regular basis now.

Exactly. Sure the ranking changes didn’t help and it opened the flood gates to all the players that want to get rank without actually wanting to PVP, and encouraged an anti-PVP meta, but there’s nothing that stops the people advocating for other BGs to play them and queue for them.
I waited in queue for WSG for nearly 30 minutes, when it finally popped it was a 10v7 where half the ppl in the BG had no idea what the objectives were. The players that want to PVP are either trying to ez-rank in AV like everyone else, and they’ll queue WSG in a couple months when they get their rank 13/14 gear (because imagine being in rank 10 gear in WSG, gross!) or simply aren’t playing at all. Quality of the games are dog because no one is queuing.
What is sad, Use to be many WSG going, and a few AB too.
I agree - I got a bunch of my friends to level on era before the changes were implemented because there were many battlegrounds rolling…
Let’s just say we’re no longer friends.
I called the meta switching to AV once this new system came out. =)

I hold out hope that AB and WSG will start hoppin again in a month or so… Reason being the bulk of the players seem to be there for rep because they’re fresh 60’s.
When you think about it logically, there is hope forAB / WSG.
My only concern is that it extends out past 2-3 months

Perhaps a “Random BG” Q that has a lil bonus would fix this… Like Q for rando and gain 1K bonus win or loss. May even need to change the AV group cap to 15.
I agree - or boost the honor turn in for the greater honor/concerted efforts?
To be fair, I’ve noticed that AVs are generally much longer now, with people playing defence, I even saw a tree!
People that want to PVP will do so in AV, the only BG popping, and the games will get longer, and maybe players will revert to premading to get rank?

What if they put gear behind rep for each bg? weaps needing all 3… oh, damn! lol
WSG = Gloves, boots
AB = Helm, shoulders
AV = Chest, pants
all 3 = weaps.
But if that were the case… then they need green, blue and lastly epic versions of the gear.

You obviously didn’t play som then. Because AV Mets lasted about 2-3 weeks and then it went wsg-ab indefinitely
Classic was the same way. 3 months of AV, and then it was wsg ab.
Era was wsg for over a year until the changes. Now you’ve got the tourists giving the rank a go before the qs inevitably sort themselves out as usual
It’s terrible. I tried two more AV games today and they were both awful. The raid leader was AFK in the cave the whole game. Others AFK all over the place. People playing like garbage and sitting at the choke instead of going around. On what planet would ANYONE consider this to be enjoyable gameplay?
Oh, AND I saw people in there who were there Tuesday and have been there in like 80% of the games I’ve played (which was like 10 this week, at different times in the day) and they are STILL not at the 500k cap. Like what?? HOW?
Anyway, I’ll see you next fresh and maybe we can have fun again. I get the impression you’ll be there.

I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know how this meta is even that good lol I’ve done what I feel is a lot (and I mean ALOT) of BGs this week and I’m not even at 200k, doing mostly AV/AB (RIP - that’s all that pops).
Consistently come across rank 10+ players that have no idea how to control their character lol it’s just really bad state at this point. And the fact that the bulk of the PVP “community” is in AV trying to rush base just shows are terrible it is lol.
I hope fresh will bring back some hype and quality but somehow I seriously doubt it

Maybe thinking that the next fresh/season will be better is a cope. I still like to hold out hope though.
I honestly binged the hell out of Classic. So much that I had 3 R14s and a R13. Of course there wasn’t a lot to do because of covid and basically having to stay at the house. My thought was that this would be the last time to really have fun doing this and it looks like I was right. So I did have fun and made friends and memories.
Anyway we’ll see what happens with all this next.

This is a way better Idea than you think…
I thought about how to do this in a way that the perception of it works for both the casual players AND the min-max honor per hour players.
The solution is so simple, its so elegant…
Make the Concerted Efforts turn in require 1AB 1WSG 1AV Per turn-in rewarding standard amounts of rep per BG AND 5000 honor per turn in.
As a result the gains would be too good for a premade to ignore, and would also be way too good for any casual player to ignore.
This way there would ALWAYS be casuals and BG zugs in every battleground; this would 100% disrupt the meta making all BG’s valuable in their own right.

I think that the way it is now is fine with the 3 marks, motivating players to win, rather than just farm marks (a little more anyway) but a little boost in the honor gains from the turn-ins would definitely help. Either way, I think the true solution is really to revert back to the old system, where AV-only queuing is likely not enough to compete with the players that premade. Yes, it sucks getting farmed by a premade as a pug (I solo/small stack ranked), but pre-made/group queueing are also a bit of a building block of the PVP community IMO. The new system caters to the casual rankers and solo queue gods, but takes away an aspect of the game that I think is pretty crucial. WoW is a cool game for the community (or anyway that’s my perspective).
