Relative to the old system, it certainly is.

Maybe on a free xfer destination. Smaller communities made HWL with a fraction of the time commitment in the old system.

Old system encouraged unhealthy behavior and degeneracy in order to get to R14 there is no disputing this.

The new system still poses quite the challenge to attain R14 and isn’t something that can be done quickly or will be done by most players. Best part with it is that it breaks up the ranking mafias and makes you only compete against yourself.

It’s also nice that the most you can decay is down to 0% current rank. It allows you to take breaks, have a life, etc.

As someone that “just pvps for fun”, this change literally ruined the game. I’m not gonna spend my evenings waiting 30 mins for a wsg to pop only for it to be an 10v6 and there are a lot of ppl like me, many of the staples of the pvp scene are taking a break.

Been on era since there was like 400 active players, pvps never been in a worse place.

Also when ppl say premades, mostly what they are talking about is like 4 friends queuing together

Me too. If you reaaaaaly want to pvp, there’s an infinite amount of it in AV. Just go to where the horde are. It’s that easy.

I was really clear. If you didn’t understand, that’s a you problem. You think people care about your opinion and they don’t. Once you realize that you will free yourself of this burden.

Yeah, you’re right. This is the reason that, after the cloning stunts Blizzard pulled, putting Era on life support, servers went from low pop to high / full pop. This is 100% sarcasm, by the way, just in case you can’t tell. People loved the game under the old system, and it didn’t stop them flooding back in to Classic Era when they realized Wrath is the road to retail trash.

The era servers are doing fine and it had nothing to do with the changes to HWL. They changed HWL because the old system was easily abused. It was way easier to get on lower pop servers and on higher pop servers it was abused by toxic groups of people who wanted to make gold/money off selling HWL and controlling the brackets. Nobody liked it. If you liked it, I am assuming you were in the group of toxic people.

Please, proceed advocating for the “quality of life” changes to slowly kill the game, just like the shiny mount and outfit collecting dress up game turd that is retail.

This game is 20 years old. They need to make quality of life improvements.

Yeah it is weird how real pvpers aren’t queueing for wsg. I wonder why that is…

They are queueing for WSG. You know you can queue for all three at once, right?

WSG is just not popping for PVPers because the masses prefer to afk in AV to hit R14 without doing any PVP.

Things aren’t going to go back to how they were, but I do always find it odd when people suggest that others go to pservers when they want an authentic experience.

The caps were 2million in SoM sometimes. 500k is a lot easier but still a grind.

It takes 1/4 the number of players to fill WSG. If they truly are queuing for WSG, it would only not be popping if it took more bodies to fill than AV. They either aren’t queuing or it is currently popping.

You clearly don’t understand how the system works.

It won’t pop if you are in AV. It won’t pop unless 10 are available for each side.

So if the people who like WSG queue for all three, the odds are extremely low that it will pop given the meta with 95% of the playerbase going for welfare epics in AV.

As opposed to 40 on each side? You are telling me there are so few queuing for WSG that not a single map can be spun out while the game concurrently creates hundreds of AVs a week. In other words: they aren’t queueing.
