Anything’s gross if you think it hard enough. It’s not like they’re mailing the victims burning trees. They’re making a statue and funneling a chunk of the funds used to make the statue to the victims. No different than any other commercialized charity.

Scotty’s understanding of Prosperity theology seems to echo the current governments stance on Welfare policy. Of course, standard hack Neoliberal ideology should be blamed in part too.

Awww hugs you, for real. I’m a Christian I’m not perfect but I try, and I do pray I do believe prayer works I’ve seen it many times, too often people pray but they don’t put feet to those prayers, I pray for the firefighters to have strength energy and wisdom I pray for those helping the animals and I send money to help. It’s my way of doing what I can.
I eat keto my daughter was a vegetarian for a long time I have no problem with people eating what they need as long as they are healthy. Anyway I consider you one of my friends on these forums, always have. I hate that the fires happened for whatever caused them whether it be climate change, environmental mismanagement or arson. It absolutely breaks my heart about the people and the animals and the destruction I love Australia, and it’s people and wildlife.

Prosperity doctrine (not theology) involves a belief in giving generously to God - the church, and other people - so that he then gives more to you. Kind of like a river effect. The idea is, that if you hoard what God gives you to yourself, you’re a dam, blocking flow, so why would he keep giving to you?
I’m not seeing that doctrine reflected in Liberal party policies, are you? Welfare and Charity are Christian ideals. Red Cross, Salvation Army, St Vincent De Paul… all Christian Charities. Are they Pentecostal? No. But Pentecostals can be in any denomination. Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury Bishop Wembly is a self-described Pentecostal who prays in tongues.
There are problems with prosperity doctrine, and not all Pentecostals adhere to it. (i do not subscribe to it for example) Even Brian Houston has backed off from making God’s blessings all about money, and I once heard heard him on a rare visit to Hillsong, cite the many other blessings in life, that God pours into us. Relationships are wealth. Talents. Experiences. It is a truth, that to have great friendships, you need to generously sow into people. So there is some evident truth in the premise, it’s just been taken to a fiscally exclusive extreme by some.
But as said, I’m not seeing prosperity doctrine dominating Liberal party policy.

I’ve already discussed that consensus science is a fraud and that science isn’t a democracy. Thank you for demonstrating a complete lack of tact or argument by blindly calling me a conspiracy theorist and listing things associated with them. I’ll do you one better.
The CIA and other Alphabet agencies socially engineered conspiracy theorist to be derogatory and created several bogus theories to further erode opinion. These are the same intelligence agencies that kidnapped people and forced C20H25N3O among other drugs into them, among other horrid and innumerable things not disclosed to the public. It’s not beyond them in the slightest to do something like this.

Secondly, I believe that when analysing current welfare policy, it becomes evident how a mix of neoliberalism and bastardised religious belief in faith being rewarded by wealth has been recoded, and politicised into a belief that welfare recipients deserve to be in their position because they’re just not faithful, hardworking, or pious enough.
