I’m thinking about finally trying evoker as a long time healer. My favorite thing is using utility and making a key run more smooth and I pug most of the time.
Can Aug be useful in Pugs around the 15 level or is the damage from Dev just better in that scenario?
I don’t want to play pres because of decreased range.
Aug truly is dependent upon the party for dps, but it is also good in low keys with weaker players because it assists with healing and keeping the tank alive so it’s still useful for more than just a DPS boost. Plus low keys are a good way to learn the dungeon as Aug so you can become better proficient at using your most powerful abilities at the right time.
As mentioned, Aug effectiveness depends on your own team dps, if you see that they are nearly or better geared than you. Going as aug might make things smoother. But if you see you way out gear them, you might as well just pump as deva

Gotcha. That confirms my suspicions then.
Aug is great for pugging because everybody wants you around, and nobody can scrutinize your performance until after a key is completed. And even then, the hooks are broken and so your actual contribution is hard to pin down in the logs.

I like being dev in lower keys personally because roasting bosses for under-geared players and riding off into the sunset is fun times.
Depends on your other dps, if they suck you suck even if you’re doing mechanics right. That said a 15 is pretty much nothing so it doesn’t matter, if you think dev is more fun then do that. They certainly can blow things up and be flashy even if it isn’t in a good place right now for m+ and below 18-20 range their dps with the lack of side utility is not much of an issue.
I pugged up to +25 as Aug so you can pretty much pug as high as you want. I could go higher but I reached my goals for the season and switched to an alt.
