Delete aug and give evoker a pve tank spec

They will not delete Aug. Mald about it. Get acid reflux about it. Live with it, homie. Itās going to continue to exist long after your rage related indigestion eats away at the lining of your stomach.
I actually like the rotation and Iāve played it a lot in pve. I think the thenme IS the problem, though, and why blizzard was so hesitant to try it out for years.
Itās SO hard to design a true support spec because it just ends up being overpowered to the point where its borderline mandatory, underpowered to where itās strictly worse, or is obscenely complicated and/or breaks other specs entirely.
Itās genuinely a tougher problem to solve.
I see your point. Iāve raided as Aug as well through mythic Amirdrassil up till Tindy and I did like then. I guess Iām just spoiled with the current state of dev. The additional movement from 1min deep breath + hover resets is felt as aug. The rotation is not awful, I just get hung up on the cast/travel time with eruption. Sometimes it feels off even with a boat load of haste.
When I think of theme Iām reacting more towards the flavor of dps evo. It being more themed around black magic and rocks and fire is cool. I think they could build out some additional abilities that fit into the class fantasy. Like an aoe spell that rains down rocks that daze and slow enemies.
I agree regarding support tho. I think itās really hard to balance. Either itās good and this mandatory or itās so bad no one plays it. I think it just needs to migrate to another flavor of dps like arcane,fire,frost mages and remove more of the support elements.

My raid lead has mained aug since it came out and heās just furious with how they have pretty much abandoned the spec.
He doesnāt pvp though so thatās a good thing lol
The issue with support specs in this game is how blizzard designs DPS. The wheel turn of whoās obnoxious just leads to group stacking with that. And anything that can buff that just compounds the issue. Same with PI. Blizzard has made balance changes in the past to classes based solely off their ability to scale with PI Haste. Itās stupid.
That said at least I got flameshaper dev for PvE, itās fun as hell.
It does none of the livelord garbage it used to in DF anymore, so this is a non issue. It pretty much has the same survivability from the dragon tree of dev and prev.
If you remove the fly over talent aug is just a less successful dev right now.
This is the same mentality of people whining that DH is 2 buttons still when itās very clearly not.

Honestly PvP as aug is fun for like a hot minute then I remember how much more I enjoy dev / Pres and go back. I agree with your RL tho they really havenāt given it much of any love outside tuning.
I played with a Aug about 2 weeks ago in 2s because he signed up and said lots of laughs.
Games were super fast or long lol
The crazy burst if the team stacked was absurd and was killing people in the opener.
