Audio Assist Combat Voice Alerts Cannot Be Disabled – Options Missing After Midnight Update

After the Midnight update, I am continuously hearing spoken combat alerts such as:

  • “Aggro”

  • Debuff notifications

  • Other combat status announcements

These voice alerts play every few seconds during combat and cannot be disabled.

Problem Details

  1. The Audio Assist section under Accessibility only shows:

    • “Chat Text to Speech”

    • “Read Chat Text out loud” (unchecked)

  2. There are no combat audio assist options visible to disable these alerts.

  3. The voice alerts continue playing even though:

    • All addons are disabled

    • Scan & Repair has been run

    • Game files are up to date

    • Audio drivers are updated

    • Default Windows audio device is correct

    • Master volume in-game is set to 5%

  4. The voice alerts play at what sounds like 100% volume and do not respect in-game volume sliders (Master, Effects, Dialogue, etc.).

    Troubleshooting Already Attempted

    • Disabled all addons

    • Full PC restart

    • Scan & Repair via Battle.net

    • Updated audio drivers

    • Verified Windows default audio device

    • Lowered all in-game audio sliders

    None of these steps stopped the voice alerts.

I am experiencing this same issue and have tried most of those options as well with no luck.
