While I do think modern WoW has some problems with its level of “noisiness”, I don’t think the welcome to current patch quest thing is really a problem. It’s more in the xpac leveling bits where it gets annoying.
It would probably be best if they added a “zen mode” checkbox in the UI settings that disables all talking head dialog boxes and optionally renders their content as NPC /say in chat instead.

Or you could just accept it, untrack, and forget about it as it’s lost to your quest log. But I guess that would just be too much.

i’m not agreeing with the OP in the slightest, but when i’ve been logging into my level 45 alts to do sha this week, i get probably 3 or 4 popups all at once and two different voice dialogues start playing at the same time - and you can’t reject any of the quests. IF i was a returning player, it would probably be a bit overwhelming. luckily i am not and i’m capable of right clicking all of them to shut them up and i go on my merry way
My only gripe is the stupid shadowland starter quest. Cannot decline it. Cannot delete it, without it starting again. Guess it will be in my quests forever ignored. No I will not do the 15 min role play just to get past that point. You should be able to decline it.

Yeah that happens when you first log in so you have some idea of where to go for current content…but after that it doesn’t unless it’s like the first day of a patch.
Man that really sucks. Good thing nobody is putting a weapon to your head and making you play retail. I guess it’s back to Classic with your gobs and gobs of brand new never been seen content and super engaging recurring content streams.
This drives me bonkers.

is that a giant skin tag coming off your avatar’s eyelid protruding over the eye patch? or the dr. scholl’s skin tag remover damaged his eye and now he needs a patch?

Nothing they said is objectively true past yes there are auto quests and talking head popups you can easily just close. The game didn’t force them to go to Org or any other nonsense they spouted.
Fine for them to be annoyed by it and I hope they enjoy classic with its gobs and heaps of brand new content and endless scores of fruitful and worthwhile repetitive content.
