Ever get the feeling that some people don’t read the quest text, skip all the cutscenes every time and don’t even wait to get the gist of what’s going on, don’t listen to NPCs at all or do the “stay and listen” in the newer stuff…
…and then act like the story makes NO sense, or have an entirely skewed sense of what happened?
Not that Blizz does great storytelling all the time, or never drops the ball at all, but… sometimes it seems like the info is all there and some players just skip it and then act like Blizz is worse than they are.
Because they wanted the legendary ring and the achievements associated with it to be ‘exclusive’ to people that played WoD. The exact same argument they used with the legendary cloak quest chain in MoP.
Why they didn’t just change the rewards and achievements and keep the quest chain intact, I’ll never understand.
Nah. That’s just WoW-style streamlining taken to the zenith. It results in a very safe and controlled combat and quest design - e.g. there are no elites you can outsmart or outplay, if it’s not meant to be soloed, you won’t be soloing it no matter how hard you try.
Maybe they use a different design methodology. SE define class requirements first then design the class so it fits the requirements - and nothing more. Blizzard seem to take a more chaotic approach, they design the class first than tweak it until it fits requirements. But that’s just my pet theory.
The quest line is pretty stupid for several reasons.
For example:
AU Dreanor is falling apart
How the hell do the MU Warsong Orcs get to AU Dreanor if the portal is supposed to be closed?
Yrel, AU Garrosh, and the Lightforged Army don’t intervene, even though Azeroth Orcs keep coming by?
What about the AU Mag’hars?
What added value is this quest supposed to have, and what is its purpose other than spitting on Garrosh?
etc…
It would make more sense if the AU Mag’hars played a role, for example, by bringing Yrel and her Lightforged Army to Azeroth. Likewise, it would make more sense to include Thrall, since his story was canceled in Shadowlands.
Ultimately, I see no point or logic in this, except for an author who apparently feels the need to express his hatred for Garrosh.
People like that should never write the story!
If this happens to characters like Sylvanas, Jaina, or whoever, those looking forward to the Garrosh quest would be completely freaked out if it happened to someone else like mentioned above.
I would simply hold a mirror up to people
I’ve already written that this makes no sense or logic.
If it’s just about spreading hate, then the future is frightening.
