At first I was excited, now I'm just angry

I edited my previous post with an apology for how I sounded and a bit more context.

You don’t sound curt to me… I am just really not understanding. When I say “not planning to sub” I am not meaning “THIS GAME SUCKS I QUIT”, I mean “Already finished the content so I will let my sub lapse until new content.”

edit: And I am saying that the TP in itself is not enough to keep me from letting my sub lapse.

i started playing genshin and throwing all my money on that game and its so fun and addicting

The raid or die thing is kind of meh, I dont understand why they cant keep this away of certain types of content.

Running x M+ dungeons, killing x raid bosses… its just so meh.

Why not “collect x transmogs”, “explore area x and gather x leather” “play x hours as undead priest” …

This game has so much content, but only raid or die rewards you, its frustrating.

Don’t assume my gender. I mean don’t assume I do this junk and do 8 a week because I don’t, I think I did a few M+ and got bored to tears and haven’t done them in 3 weeks now. My guild also has a 'requirement to raid: do a m+" so I don’t raid currently anymore either because I refuse to do M+

M+ is the worst thing they ever added to this game

This sounds like the beginning of a very bad spiral. And I say that as someone who enjoys Genshin and spends money on it regularly.

In that case, I’m sorry but you are incorrect. It is not a catch all, but for the people who really feel like they’ve hit a wall in things to do, this will get a lot of them to play, even if only a bit, for those periods where they feel like they’ve capped out.

That’s sort of why I brought up SWTOR. Its content droughts are orders of magnitude worse, and people still play religiously. Much of that is because of the robust reward system, tiered through F2P, Veteran subscriber, and current subscriber.

Nothing is ever going to eliminate lulls. But this sort of thing does pad them.

throwing is a bit harsh of a term. i mean splurging 4.99 a month

That would be where you’re wrong, bud.

it’s the most toxic

how is “use crayon” an insult to you?
asking you to use crayon, is a clear indicator that i’m the one not understanding.

it’s not ignorance.
you’ve created a fake reality, and you think everyone else lives in the fantasy world you created.

people aren’t going to sub just for the trading post.
they’re not.

if they don’t have an ongoing interest in playing the game, the items in the trading post are completely worthless to them.

there is already good retention, just among the people who chase the raiding carrot… or the rated pvp carrot.
most of the playerbase doesn’t need any more carrots.
at this point in the games life, the vast majority of hardcore players are going to go down with the ship.

Why do you care? Go throw money at Genshin and quit whinging here about a game you’re already exiting.

You don’t have to do a mythic, a raid or anything like that. He outlined some of the things people could do fast to get the currency but all you need to do is just play the game.
Feasts are really fun and funny, you could do a couple of those and get the currency, from what I hear.

Pretty sure the most toxic is paying 15$ a month to spew bile on the forums.

Literally just ran my mog runs, 1 shotted 25 raid bosses, boom, 250 points.

All for doing something I would’ve done anyway.

i paid 15 bucks amonth to do some M+ and world bosses and world quests. the honeymoon phase for wow has ended i silently await the upcoming storm of anger about how wack DF becomes by the forums later on…

Then I’ll apologize for assuming it was meant to be a dig at my maturity.

But this is contradictory to this:

To directly answer this, I’m going to be very blunt. No frills.

People will not sub just for the trading post. But people are more likely to sub if the Trading Post has something in it they like.

Then why do people like this?

Fair. As I said earlier in the thread, maybe it is just because I am immune to bribes. If there is something exciting/relevant to do then I will play, but if there is not then I have no problem taking a break, nor is fluff ever going to change it. Mind you, I am not saying it should change it… I am perfectly content with how things are… it’s just odd (not bad, just odd), to be that fluff will get people to stick around during lulls. I mean that is good for Blizzard clearly, just strange to me.

Really doubt people would sub for a cloak.

so you agree with me that the cloak is bad and should be replaced with a cooler better transmog option?
