Ashes of Creation will force wow

If they give a place to carebear more safely…it can work.

Eve when played smart…is not that bad. you can avoid ganks. If you fly smart. Hi sec space is not safe 100%…but you can pve and not die alot.

Now if ashes opens up with premade eve refugees bringing over their 100 man corps or some alliances like goons bringing over 500 people+…then its dead .

Eve at least the goon swarm idiots keep to their 0.0 space. Don’t fly around delve region…you don’t deal with goon swarm crap really. If in delve area…well you asked for it lol.

Probably a better fit indeed. But as I said to someone else, it doesn’t matter that the game can run on low spec computer if no one’s left to play it anyway. They won’t reverse the trend of loosing subscribers started in Wrath by doing the same thing over and over.

If they want to keep going with the MMO train with this franchise, they will need a major overhaul at some point in the future because we really seemed to have hit a wall gameplay wise in the past 3 expacs. The same powers being repackaged and reshipped over different systems and the only shift in gameplay being a class that has the ability to double jump and glide.
They are unable to expand on an x/y axis for what I suspect to be engine restrictions which limits their design space and their ability to reinvent the game.
IMO it’s a risk they should take eventually.

:man_shrugging:
I’m fine with it.
I don’t like how classes are now but that’s only because I played during MoP so I’ll always judge specs against how they played back then. But as far as the gameplay outside of that goes :man_shrugging: Make new zones + dungeons + raids forever just as they are today and I have no problem playing until the end of time.

Whoa, I’ll have you know that New World was forgotten about after two weeks.

If I wanted to play a game that had effects on the players around me while I built things around me I would play rust or minecraft instead. this is a poorly copied idea, can’t wait to watch it fall.

i’ll wait to see it

ashes of creation is in the same folder as pantheon:rise of the fallen in my head.

would be cool - probably wont really happen.

Simply put…IF WoW goes F2P…the game is dead or going to die. If they try to do the tactic Guild Wars 2 uses they will screw it up horribly and the game will die… all they need is to make the game’s story make sense and enjoyable…mechanics enjoyable…and not let someone force a really stupid idea through that ultimately ruins beloved characters forever more

Considering it has no actual release date in sight and is still in extremely early testing. It will take them another 5-10 years to properly and 100% release and even then it seems to have literally nothing going for it.

When will people learn. No matter how big folks like to talk people do not want to open world pvp. They want to gank with their friends 5 v 1 etc but when it comes to accomplishing goals and quest they want no part of being attacked and lose everything to another player LOL.

I just looked it up since I still have no idea what its about and it looks like it’s in development hell to me. They changed to a new engine in December…
Looking at the history of the game, it might never see the light of day unless they sell it as early access or something.

I mean I’d love for WoW to get another competitor like FFXIV to trounce them around a bit and ideally get them back to respecting the solo casual and building and designing the game around the solo casual…but it’ll literally never happen.

The problem is the true cancer players of this game are the whales and tryhard esport types. The kind that lives and dies by what spreadsheet nerds say and act like they’re all basically world first class caliber players “but have lives”. The kinds of players that turn their snotty noses at KSM and heroic raiders and demand that logging and progging is the only acceptable playstyle. The kind of players whose happiness is directly dependent on others not succeeding because only they can be the most special of the special.

Basically I want Wildstar to rise back from the grave and take the “hardcore” out of WoW and then die again and those types never coming back.

But yeah, expecting any game to start fresh and actually take on the inertia WoW has built up over the last nearly 2 decades now and overtake it is foolish. It takes a masterpiece like FFXIV to basically trump WoW in every facet of the game except mythic+ to contend in the space…and even FFXIV took a total reboot and a willingness to value product over profits (and had deep pockets to allow this) to take the literal years it needed to gain and secure its foothold.

Have you forgotten about the Riot MMO? That’s gonna be huge and surely a big competitor.

By the time Ashes comes out most likely Microsoft will have already bought Intrepid and will have either merged it into either WoW or ESO or make it a stand alone game like Skyrim.

I think that the WoW formula is almost perfect, but it needs a real PRODUCER.
Somebody who prunes the nonsense.
Prunes the borrowed power systems, the RNG systems, the excessive timegating, the lore wrecking shenanigans.
And then, yes, let’s go with new zones, dungeons and raids, forever.

Isn’t FFXIV a WoW killer…

If their game, at all, values PvP over PvE, I can guarantee it’s DOA.

And I’m willing to wager a company with a flagship product that is all about PvP and with a community that arguably is more toxic than even this one is not going to change gears and build a rich and immersive PvE-centered world on par with either WoW or FFXIV.

It will value everyone. Riot knows what they’re doing to take away customers from other games.

oh boy, New World 2: Electric Buggaloo about to commence on gd

a game that is able to be both box price. sub price, and mobile game transaction f2p priced has what reason exactly to cut down on its income?

Ashes isn’t free to play either. if anything, atm the model seems to be sub based with FOMO cosmetics.

AoC is certainly shaping up nicely but its still got a long LONG way to go before it can compete with wow and even then, its game play isn’t likely to swipe the casual player base or even the pve player base. its open pvp all the time. pvp with consequences.
gathers can actually loose all their supplies to a band of raiders.

not all pvp run games are that bad really.

I have seen less toxic elitism in eve than wow. its there…you just don’t hit those crews.

In eve…we can take low gears, low skill points players under our wing. Got the spirit…come on. we can find a spot for ya. In eve most started out at as scouts/tacklers. A not very thrilling job…but very needed. Keep to it, move up, more fun to be had. But the point is noobs can be more accepted there.

wow…yeah. Weeks in, not 2 tier? Man you suck.
