Is it not possible to use ASCII characters for our character names anymore? we used to do that when certain names were not available we could go this route. Was it change
Not that I am aware. Very long ago they weren’t technically allowed, but could still be made. They’ve been permitted for a very long time. Are you getting this with any character, or just specific ones?

This one , I wanted to make the D like this Ɖ but the game says I need to use characters only.

It is possible it just isn’t on the supported alphabet then.

Certain ASCI Characters aren’t supported; Take my name for instance (Yäomólièrén) the second a should have a solid ā across the top but all it would allow in game all it would allow was the ä with 2 dots above the a; Yāomólièrén is in Chinese Pinyin and means “Demon Hunter” in the Chinese “Mandarin” language.
