As someone with bad eyes w/ new UI

The new UI overhaul is cool i guess, but I cannot tell you how absolute rage inducing and heartbreaking it is to have this entire redesign and actually MAKING TEXT/ICON SIZE SMALLER in menus/tooltips and STILL, STILL, NOT having ANY text slider accessibility options put in for such things to help us, and yet having it for chat boxes from the very start, and in 2022 where companies should hopefully be considering minority disabled folks more and more each day.

And making menus and crap MICROSCOPIC - Such as the talent menu icons and the junk at the bottom for templates and stuff. Imagine just saying screw people with bad eyesight because they’re no the majority as you’re doing said overhaul. Completely unacceptable.

And before anyone says it, yes I set my UI scale up to max, it DOES NOT increase game menu tooltips, or several other reading sections in game. Basically ensuring now that to read anything I just hold my magnifier up to my computer screen at all times.

Yes it does?

Okay, set your UI scale to max, then scroll over top the very same menu options and tell me that the tooltip text has increased, you know the same stuff that tells you what each option does?

Or enlarges the talent tree menu in any meaningful way, such as icons and point indicators, or the bottom spec adjustment items?

It doesn’t, and I know it doesn’t, cause i’ve been sitting here doing and fiddling with things since release.

Would be hard to imagine someone can’t read this.

Not the drop down boxes bud, the actual tooltips as you hover over an option and the tooltips pop up to tell you what adjusting this or that will affect.

it was frustrating last night, everything was so small… I adjusted as I could but ya. honestly it could be a bit more user friendly in this regard.

everything was tiny, and some menus were grayed over to where i had to search to even find them.

gonna take some getting used to, and trying to figure out how to increase the size on everything.

on a side note, i did enjoy getting to move things around where i wanted them

Okay yea, those are small. Could easily be fixed though, since the game tooltips actually aren’t that small.

Yes, the menus and the talent interface are the most glaring issues as of right now. Icons point distribution and template customization and butttons.

And yeah it could easily be fixed and im hopeful that blizzard will do so in short order, but the fact that it was overlooked at all is really really bothersome and frankly astonishing. For whatever team sat and poured over the development of the overhaul and tweaks to just truck on without considerations, mindblowing.

I get that folks with impairments are not the majority or target audience, but to completely just neglect or even forget to consider them is a whole other issue. I understand folks want nice sleek and modern UI but…regressing on accessibility is actually unreal

The whole thing does feel a little unpolished yea. But I don’t think they are intentionally breaking accessibility.

You can temporarily alleviate some of this with something like
/run SettingsTooltip:SetScale(1.5) ClassTalentFrame:SetScale(1.1)

Thanks, i will try this

Exactly why I have to rely on addons. I use MoveAnything to resize all dialog boxes and windows to increase their font size and Kaliel’s Tracker to make the quest tracker more visible (as well as other addons). I just have to wait for them to be updated because very few of them are working at the moment.
