"As long as they feel passionately one way or another business will be good"

Nobody likes tokenism, especially not the groups it is exploiting for cheap controversy - but I assure you, I was asking for that one.

The worst part is they were pulling a Kevin Spacy. When in trouble come out gay and hope everything goes away.

when you start talking about Light speed and objects you create a vary obvious issue for the Star Wars universe.

A Car moving at the speed of light would have enough kinetic energy to destroy anything they can create in the Star Wars universe. And then you just create the issue of “attach a Warp Drive to any object” and you have a story ending weapon at your disposal.

It was a bad Idea to introduce a light speed ram to that universe

Better to leave Star Wars in the dust where it belongs than to try and rationalise the madness that’s being peddled to the masses.

If they want a fresh start? Do old Republic but make sure to tear the rights off EA before going anywhere near that avenue.

I don’t think they would have to worry about tearing the rights off of EA as LucasArts still owned the IP which is now owned by Disney.

The real question though is does Disney want to even go in that direction?

Nick Spencer (Hail Hydra’s author) is a hack, and they put him on Spiderman after Dan Slott (Spiderman’s previous author of over ten years) moved to Ironman and Fantastic Four.

Things are lookin pretty grim for Marvel right now.

The Tesseract made a clone of what it thought Captain America was, because Steve was missing after Secret Wars. The real Cap came back and defeated him.

Wow.

Rian is dumb tho. He blew the trilogy’s load on the Last Jedi. They have next to nothing to work with now.

I think this is more a problem with Jason Aaron. It’s become more and more apparent that he just hates Thor. If another author had covered Jane Foster’s rise to the Hammer, the comic probably wouldn’t have disrespected Thor as much as Aaron did.

EA’s canceled like 4 star wars games that we know of, made a middling battlefront and then a battlefront so bad it changed laws accross the world and started a conversation about child gambling.

That’s a tweet, I copy pasted it because it’s accurate. If Disney hasn’t torn their rights away by now, they’re not going to.

As part of a demographic said tokenism was probably trying to appeal to, not only is there the usual feeling of it being cheap and pandering, but it also makes me mad that it comes across as just a PR smokescreen.

Blizzard Employee: ~accuses Blizz of harassment and discrimination~

Blizzard: ~fake gasp~ “Not us! We’re so progressive and inclusive!”

“See?! A gay character!”

This right here.

It’s even worse because people have been asking for gay representation in WoW for years now, but never managed to even get a snippet of "Yeah, <NPC #121791781> in a zone that you’ll never visit once this patch is done is gay in their backstory that we’ll only reveal in a book no one will ever read.

When your whole story is based around shock value and subverted expectations, it can’t last.

So what you’re saying is we need a Warcraft Cinematic Universe to get us back on track. A WCU if you will.

I don’t mind if it happens organically. Tracer happened early on, and I don’t really remember a whole lot of fuss around it.

But Overwatch is what, three or four years old now? And 76 isn’t even new, he’s an OG character.

It kinda feels like when Rowling just kinda tacked on “Oh. Dumbledore is gay.” as an afterthought. Though, that only made mad because she messed up my Dumbledore/McGonagall ship, lol.

I don’t have a horse in this race, but I thought I’d mention that 76 is a character Metzen made up for a planned comic series, so he existed before Overwatch did. If 76 was intended to be gay, Metzen would’ve mentioned that long before now.

IMO they pulled “76 is gay” stuff to divert attention from that other “scandal”.

Also it sunk the chances of my 76 x Ana ship from happening, them bastards lol

I don’t personally care what proclivities the characters have. I prefer stories about drama and intrigue and less about slice of life.

but isn’t Anna Reinhardt’s squeeze?

no idea, stopped following the lore (and that game at large) a looooong time ago :stuck_out_tongue:

Warcraft movie Lothar will get frozen/put on magic coma and will wake up for the events of burning crusade (he’s the cap america here, first warcraft “hero” and all)

Kael’thas is Loki, only evil magical man sexy enough for the role (no hom*)

Maybe Khadgar is vision

Some worgen or fel orc should have to be Hulk

How am i doing so far?

Chris Metzen should be Thor.

Oof it was obvious, dont know how i forgot about thrall

Maybe you could have his stand alone movie about becoming worthy of the doomhammer?

Now that i think about it- Who’s a better Dr strange, Jaina or Khadgar?

What’s even the context of 76 being gay? Was it casually dropped in a dialogue, or did he make out with some guy?

There was. Hell the whole thing was in reaction to the feminazis screaming about Tracers butt.

When in trouble make someone gay.

Which if you read the first book its clear he and the school nurse were a thing. Also when she said Hermione could be black despite being called pale in the books.

Its all virtue signaling bunk.

I do remember the commotion over Tracer’s butt. I guess somehow, even with my suspicious mind, I never connected it to her gay reveal.
