As a player with deep passion for World of Warcraft, I have some thoughts I need to express

Yeah it’s sad how far they have fallen

PvE is their main focus and gets them majority of their sub money

It is a shame how they treat PvPers though

Because pve is the main game. Hit level 60 with only pvp. You can’t. Questing is pve. Dungeons are pve raids are pve. Farming mats is pve. 90% of the game is pve. Pvp is a fun side thing in classic. If you want pvp to get love. Add arenas. But as the silly orc man said. People will just cheat or something.

Try questing on a PvP server without getting PvP.

Yeah try farming mats as well.

PvP is literally half the game unless you are on a PvE server. Try going to any dungeon/raid without encountering PvP. Do you want bis weps til AQ? Welp gotta grind rank 14 bud that’s PvP.

The idea that PvP should receive no attention unless arenas are added is just absurd. Not to mention people are brainstorming suggesting things for c+ to improve PvP. And arenas/RBGs are some of those suggestions. You are all over the place, you sit there saying how worthless PvP is but then say “oh yeah I guess if arenas/mmr are in the game then it’s worth balancing PvP”

yeah not reading a novel.

Fire the current dev team. Get people that are passionate, creative and dedicated.
Or better yet, check out pservers.

Thank you for engaging in this deep dive into game mechanics. Regarding Phase 2, Paladins do feel lackluster compared to Shamans—arguably one of Blizzard’s most egregious missteps. In fact, faction-exclusive classes like Shamans and Paladins carry exponentially higher balance stakes than shared classes . When Hunters or Mages become overpowered (OP), battlefield win rates remain relatively unaffected. But if Paladins or Shamans tip into OP territory? That decisively tilts the entire warfront balance . Blizzard ought to recognize this critical asymmetry, yet we know they haven’t—evidenced by how every expansion’s solo rankings are dominated by either Shamans or Paladins .

Regarding balancing through gear adjustments, honestly I wish it were as effective as you described. Since Phase 4, Blizzard hasn’t made significant changes to the Rune Engraving system. However, starting from T2.5 tier sets, set bonuses began dominating PvP combat . Now at T3.5, barely anyone wears Marshal or Warlord gear anymore . They only increased PvP scaling buffs before—but currently, they can’t even be bothered to adjust those buffs .

literally trashy game design with the faction exclusive classes but let vanilla enjoyers cope haha.

imagine you play shooter and your team can only buy sniper rifles, meanwhile the map is extremely small and enemy team can throw grenades at you.

Did all this on NS to 60. No pvp happened. Why would people pvp it doesn’t give anything. It just reduces their XP/h

Couldn’t agree more. Blizzard should’ve lifted the faction locks on Paladins/Shamans ages ago—yet now they’re just feigning ignorance .

If you’re constantly chasing rewards, might as well get a real job—earning a paycheck delivers far better returns than any in-game grind.

I leveled multiple chars to 60 70 and 80 on PvP servers and there wasn’t much WPvP

Same with gathering herbs think maybe couple times

Even on a PvP server PvP was a side thing

Will they do anything good for PvPers that makes people want to do it I hope yes but in reality probably not

Let’s face it—we need to abandon all hope for Blizzard’s dev team . The architects who built Classic WoW have sailed into the west , leaving their magnum opus to be paraded as a marketing circus by those now gilding corpses with lipstick . I clung to the delusion that raw effort could redeem a lack of genius—how painfully naive . The truth? They possess neither the vision nor the will , treating us WoW players as expendable scrap metal—melted down for quick profit before being tossed on the junk heap .

It stops you from taking MY mobs and MY nodes.

Not if you kill someone stealing you’re mobs.

Highest XP/h isn’t in open world lmao. It’s been out for 20 years man how are you still open world questing.

Dungeon spam and aoe farming? Sounds pretty Boaring if ya ask me. :boar:

Then why are you arguing about optimization when your a for fun player. Don’t you have to like go collect pets or something?

Are you a gold farmer/seller? Do you have a sponsor paying you to play this game? What is this “for fun” nonsense? Do you actually just hate the game but still play it because you profit from it?

We are talking about options to balance PvP in the future… Just because you hate PvP and hide in dungeons all day because you are terrified of getting ganked doesn’t mean PvP shouldn’t get some attention.

This honestly sounds like something way more up you’re alley than mine…

A “for fun” player is someone who doesn’t care about winning. That’s you. So why do you care about anything. My fun is progressing my character power wise. Like how an MMO is intended. That isn’t done through pvp in classic so who cares about it. Just spam AV get free r14. If you want good pvp stuff go to a future version of the game

Lmao How has anything I have said painted the picture that I don’t care about winning? How do you come to that assumption?

That is literally what anyone who isn’t a bot playing wow does.

I mean you get gear and “power” from PvP…

You can say the same thing about spamming BWL for PvE gear.

yeah nah m8. Future versions of the game don’t have WPvP and fighting the same 10 teams in arena doesn’t sound like that much fun either.

Basically your argument is that you hate classic PvP and anyone who enjoys it shouldn’t have an opinion. Sounds like something a BUM would think. Not to mention we are talking about classic+ which does not exist and how PvP could be better balanced in the future. So you using how PvP functions in vanilla saying it deserves zero attention has no relevance either.

C+ pvp will just be retail arena system lil bro.

Really so every other facet of PvP will cease to exist and arena will be the only way to PvP?

But by your logic retail is better PvP than classic and the only thing that indicates a need for PvP balancing/support would be arenas and an MMR system. So if that is the case then why are you against PvP being given attention?
