DPS players just need to realize that everytime a dungeon gets listed there are immediately 50+ dps that sign up.
Your odds are always going to be terrible. Its just how things are.

You’re one of 44433222 DPS applying to the group. You weren’t picked.
Its always gonna fall on the players who made the gate to progression. Even though Blizzard did ultimately create it but players slapped another layer that basically bypasses it via boosting, elitism, etc. Something that doesn’t favor the players in general asides those that aim for extremes such as getting gear past 215+
It wasn’t long ago I had been in a group who decided they were not open to teach a player who didn’t do a dungeon before and kicked him, IN NORMAL! Like, who the hell are these guys? It may not relate to Raider io in question but it points how bad these players are and are not willing to help others progress. They not realizing that if there’s more players capable of doing tougher content, the easier it can honestly get? I’m stuck doing normal mythic on most of my characters because I’m barred from doing normal raid for some stupid reason but thankfully I don’t have much issues with anything due to loot RNG issues so I gave up on the meta.
M0 is barely above heroic. If your main role is healer, I would advise starting low a healer and as you go up you will learn which mechanics will need a healing cd as you go.
If you do dps up to 5s and then swap, you’re going to get caught out, especially as a a proactive healer.
Also, after just getting a druid to 60 myself I was getting instant invites to 0-3 runs as a 178 resto even though I was possibly going to go balance later.
By “benefit” you mean they are able to find qualified players for THEIR key?
I’ve never looked at a raiderio for a mythic0 but there are many reasons I might reject you. It might be as simple as your armor class not matching the one of someone in the group who is trying to gear up.
No reason not to be 190+ Ilvl.
Nobody is looking at IO for +0’s.
You’re a dps. 20 will apply, they can pick 3. Geared and bored dps will apply.
Do one and get a key. Then just make your own groups with your key.
Try pvp/rated bgs, significantly less toxic crowd than pve people
for mythic 0, start a group and call it “chill group” you’ll get lots of people applying, from experience. can also do that with +2s but no guarantee you’ll time lol
there’s some toxic ones still… but true not as many lol
I keep seeing these posts as a strange grammatic form of rodeo. My glasses (and/or my brain) may need adjusting.
No one looks at raider io for mythic 0 dungeons, they look at ilvl.
If you want to play, and PUG as a DPS then you need to start your own groups. There’s 30 other DPS in queue, most of them are probably better than you are–it’s life.
If you’re genuinely new to the game, the community is indeed elitist and toxic, and it has been at least since I started playing (during TBC) so you’re going to need to leather up, find a casual guild, and slowly learn to play the game if you want to push content. I would suggest finding a guild that raids because raiding has a larger margin for error and can facilitate learning easier than running keys.
For every group there are at least 30 dps trying to get in. If you’re going as DPS that’s most likely the problem.
IMO the only people who come to the forums and complain about IO are inexperienced players who think they deserve carries.
The key they’re apping to required someone to put in work to level it, which probably took them persevering through a gang of crappy groups, and then here comes a lone DPS who hasn’t taken the time to learn the content getting mad that someone won’t risk failing their key to ‘give them a chance.’
You’re wrong and he’s right. Most players in guilds end up having to pug all their own content. Only the rock star raiders and other top elites are running with other elites. And those people are busy with their own progression and can’t take time to help some stranger who can’t help them back.
@OP: the problem isn’t the existence of raider io. The problem is that the game is designed now so elite content is it. There is no casual content and no place where a player on the wrong side of the learning curve can go to learn without getting trashed for messing up other people’s keys or wasting people’s time putting together a group of slow learners just like him.
And the people who come to the forums to complain about people who complain about IO are experienced players who have never helped anyone in their game lives who actually needed help. You remember helping carry one of your buddies’ alts, but only because he would carry one of your alts in return.
There is no longer a place for generosity in the game. Be generous and get trashed for helping people who need help rather than handing over that loot to an elite who is just going to vend it out for gold.
I personally believe raider io and the people who love it are the biggest cancer in the game at this moment (maybe minus the abomination that is torghast) and the falling subs which they try to hide with “server merges” seem to agree.
I have several reasons behind this 1. if you want to min max the ideal set of gear from mythic plus you may only need 4 of the mythic dungeons but because of a stupid statistic you are forced into dungeons you dont need in order to bring your average io high enough for groups to take you thus wasting hours doing another pointless grind in an already grindy expansion. 2. The nessacity of io breeds intolerable autists who jerk themselves silly over a stupid number which if you think about it logically the higher it is the sadder and more pathetic that individuals real life must be which makes me all the more inclined to look down on them with contempt. 3. It’s slowly ruining any sense of community this game has left to the point I’d rather entertain myself with kfc spammers than any of the high io autists. Atleast inspecting in Ironforge led to a conversation or explanation of rejection rather than the annonymous ignoring of people deemed beneath you by the high overlord io score.
I used to care about progress and pushing content but every expansion is the same thing run these mythic+ 80 times to get your io high enough to be accepted into groups to push further. The game is borked and untill such time io, lfg/lfd/lfr, war mode and all the other cancer creating “quality of life” improvements are gone i and a great many people will continue to leave.
no, your attitude needs to change actually. There are good guilds out there, ask around and find them. Make friends. Realize the limitations of pugging - why take someone with ilvl 179 gear when you have all kinds of ppl with ilvl 200 gear you can take instead.
There are good guilds out there. Just because you aren’t in one doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
My guild people run enough mythic plus that when the main tank asks for dps or whatnot on guild chat, it isn’t all that hard to get a spot.
I’m even lower than you Lanveldear, otherwise I would team up and run some. 170 something but play several characters. I dont do them anymore due to requirements and low loot chance. Legion had them right, this expansion does not. Bfa I saw a 455 requirement for a 0, when it dropped 430 gear. I could solo it at 455, dumb to ask that high.
