This example is too specific, you hiding something bud?
you’re a bad judge of caracter lmao
As a Community, we do not want RDF!
Mods need to pin this to the forums.
no more lobby gaming! we want classic!
anotehr anti rdf alt… yeah bet ya didnt see that one coming.
In the original release of Wrath, servers were clustered together in battle groups. These were used for PvP battlegrounds and arena. If you ran enough battlegrounds regularly around the same time of day you’d start to recognize players from other servers. Enemy and ally alike.
From day one the RDF just used the exact same structure for pooling potential groups. At the time, to me, this seemed fine and sensible. Eventually RDF was changed to just pull from pretty much everyone (in your region if I’m not mistaken).
It can’t/couldn’t work the same way in “Classic” for a few reasons. Some of the megaservers have higher populations than the old battle groups and one or two might be a bit smaller than even low pop servers were back then. There would be a few options to try and make it work - keep it all server inclusive and the players on lower population servers are just SOL. Throw all thoughts of community preservation to the winds and clump everyone together (this we can probably all acknowledge would never happen even if RDF were implemented). Or some kind of hybrid approach. The larger servers could be left alone entirely and the smaller servers could be grouped together into mini-battlegroups.
This is not beyond Blizzards capabilities, but it would require some care and attention to detail and even then we might be better off with a system that starts off trying to pull from your home server but if the time waiting gets too long it finds you a cross-realm group.
I would be content with literally any of these options but there are some very vocal opponents who would not accept any form of cross-realm play. It is what it is.
And who cares about those people. There is so few of them, they don’t matter.(People on low pop servers)
You don’t speak for the community. Running across the world to a dungeon is lame. I was a no RFD person but im at the point running to a stone to summon for 40 mins is just a waste of time and annoying.
Well, I care about them. They pay their $15 a month, same as me. I’d like them to have every opportunity to enjoy as much of the game as possible - with as few obstacles as we can manage.
Just curious. The anecdote you shared is it related to max level content, leveling content or both? I assume you misspoke when you said running to stone takes 40 min? Did you mean it takes 40min to form and then wait for someone to assist in summoning or is it really 40 min to just make your way to the stone?
Their actual frustration is nothing compared to the hypothetical frustration the whole community could suffer from the total destruction of the incredibly awesome social interactions as we know it in group content that would surely accompany RDF. Only small portion of the wow classic community suffering for the majority’s hypothetical greater good. Think about it.
Too bad, you are virtue signaling. Obviously you don’t care.
As a Community, we do not want RDF.
What makes you say that?
If you truly cared you would go to the dead servers and try to rally with them, you would spend more of your time advocating for them instead of sitting here and virtue signaling.
It’s like saying Thoughts and Prayers, you have ZERO intention to help them.
You honestly think that would work? I can revive the raiding scene on more than one server all by my lonesome? How much time do you suppose that would take? But you don’t think I can revive all those dead servers while still posting here?
This is why dead servers will remain dead, Reality is that no matter how much you send your Thoughts and Prayers on the forums there will be NO actual solution as no one wants to put their money where their mouth is and actually move there.
I’m confused. First you implied that I could solve the problem all by myself, now you’re saying it will never be solved - which is it?
It’s both. Your naive idea that you want to save Dead Servers and the Reality that they cannot be saved.
You either transfer off them or you can suffer no queues because RDF is NOT on the table.
I don’t even understand what you’re saying here. With no RDF there are no queues for anybody regardless of server size. It’s not a thing that happens. What were you trying to say?
