As a buyer on the AH

Under Cutting graciously is sometimes the only way to get things sold. I want the money not the Haggling Title

Sounds like communist propaganda to me

Just because someone sells something for decently cheaper than you demand they price it for?

This was sarcasm Yzzami.

Value is relative. You think it is worth 100k, but you now see it’s value is more like 20k (if that, is it selling at 20k? might be worth much less). So you got helped, you are now more educated.

And this is how economies get destroyed lmao

do you really think I give a hoot about the economy of a virtual game?

I use this toon as my banker/AH player and I LOVE undercutting the AH bots/players by hundreds or even thousands. I still profit. It’s usually the comptetitor buying me out anyway. I almost force their hand.

Transmog doesn’t sell as often these days with the population drop. I make the competitors buy my stuff. They have no choice.

I could make more but who gives a crap. Lol

Looks like OP found out what competition looks like in a market.

Those kind of people exists. I distinctly remember receiving a letter in game a long time ago from some random person telling me off about how I was pricing some of my auctions.

I lol’d.

I love making ah bots angry.

I buy the cheaper one because undercutting by 1 copper is much healthier for the economy than a bunch of people undercutting by 100g so I will support that person simply for that reason alone.

I really hope your philosophy doesn’t carry over into the real world.

Which philosophy might that be?

your communism…

That’s capitalism. Think about the stock market. There’s a current price, if people buy the price goes up, if people sell the price goes down. When goods are in demand the price rises, when supply is higher the price goes down.

Supply and demand, it’s economics 101 and one of the foundations of capitalism.

I use Auctionator which has a “Buy” tab and lists items there in groups with the lowest price at the top. If I want 20 herbs, for example, it will bring up the herb and show me the lots that its available in and I’ll buy up to the 20 I want starting at the top (or cheapest). And naturally people selling lots of herbs will undercut by the least they can in order to maximise their profits.

I see no reason to scan through a bunch of auctioned items to find things that are 1c more just to feel good about the whole process. After all, if the person selling wants to relist they can do so and undercut the person undercutting them.

EDIT: having said that, my own auctions are generally set to undercut by 1s. A single copper seems a bit twee.

This is the mentality I truly don’t understand. Why is that person a dingbat? Maybe they just want a fast sale. If you know you can sell the pet for 50K, then you should be happy when someone posts it for 10K, because it’s an opportunity to make an easy 40K. What am I missing?

I know this was posted months ago but reading and viewing AH stuff, I 100% agree and I do the same, pay 5-100+ more gold to buy a full stack versus clicking 100 times for a cheaper item. Drives me nuts on how players post something 100 times when in crafting you need multiples to make anything

okay ill make sure to undercut by atleat 2 copper.
