About 6 months ago my wrist started hurting whenever I would put weight on it like a push up or crawling. Then just last night I was holding my baby and it just started screaming in pain, and it just took a whole new level of pain. All sorts of pain whichever way I move it. Had to take the day off work. Any advice? Remedies? Treatment? Gaming for years and I’d love to continue but I need my hands to work and idk if I should risk it anymore.
I didn’t know it caused pain. I have it too but it’s more annoyance and feeling of weakness. Deadlift is my lowest lift because of my carpal tunnel have a big impact on my grip strength.
There’s a poster on this forum that is familiar with occult magic and alien technology. Perhaps you can find him, he may able to help.
He’s typically found outside of your local Apple Store trying to gain entry to the Genius Bar as he uses it as a conduit to communicate with the Mothman. He goes by Amatox. Good luck.

Is this the fate of all WoW gamers? I’m fairly young but I’m sure my 1-button spec will be the end of me
Pretty sure they should just call it Razer Naga Syndrome or RNS.
Time to play devoker for that super low APM / minimal keybinds.
(seriously consider this once you’ve rested your hand and hopefully make a recovery)
I always thought mothman would be more of a Windows guy
You’ve got a lot to learn about the Mothman in that case.
tldr; talk to your doctor before using kratom. talk to your doctor period for this issue.
I might get yelled at for what I am about to say but I’ve been sober for a month now using kratom for pain and sleep management. Pain from my pancreas seems to be more tolerable as of late. I could tell you which strain I use as well. Maeng Da Red and Green (Green is more pain oriented for me, Red seems to keep me from drinking alcohol, any alcohol. But, these things impact people differently.)
I would highly suggest doing research.
I dont have full blown carpal tunnel but this matey helped me a lot with my gamer wrist pain. Probabaly one of the best videos out there.
Same creature who said he deadlifts over 400lbs just 8 months ago btw.
Among a plethora of other lies.
400 deadlift is low LOL. I don’t expect you to know that tho.
While 400 is low, I’ve maxed it with 8 on each side do the math with a 2 rep max and no straps which was a huge mistake , the second time going my grip failed and tore a chunk of my palm and finger skin lol
8 of what on each side
45s … plates … it’s your main compound exercise bud, are you putting 10s on there ? Lmao omega
Better than most get out and do
Well most people don’t follow a proper program or diet and stick with it. My deadlift is very weak compared to my squat, but I also have bad proportions for it. My arms aren’t very long compared to my legs. But most of it comes from a bad grip because of carpal tunnel. If I used straps I could do more(I actually use paper towels) but I’m not a huge fan of the deadlift anyways. I’m a strong believer in the squat to build overall strength and good physique.
I have a lot of experience with carpal tunnel syndrome and repetitive strain injuries of the hand. While I’m not an Ortho, I am premed and I work in healthcare (specifically physical therapy & wound care).
I’ve also had to have bilateral carpal tunnel release (surgery for carpal tunnel) due to over 2 decades of videogames and martial arts ![]()
Its hard to diagnose carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) without a physical exam to rule out tendonitis or RSI. But I know from experience that carpal tunnel syndrome comes with burning pain that radiates into the palm and up the forearm, weakness of the hand, and tingling & numbness of the palm, thumb, index, middle, and half of the ring finger.
Something you can do at home to see if you have CTS is called “Phalen’s Test”. Google that and follow the steps, it’s really simple and only takes a minute or two. If you experience any numbness or tingling feeling in the palm, thumb, index, middle, and ring finger, it’s possible that you have CTS. While a positive Phalen’s test isn’t definitive proof that you have CTS, it is an indication of it.
As far as what you can do to treat it at home: rest, massage, stretching, ice, and NSAID’s like Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation.
If it persists, make an appointment with your primary and ask for a referral to an Orthopedic surgeon. They will likely start out giving you a corticosteroid injection in your wrist/palm. An injection can reduce or even eliminate symptoms for up to 6 months or even longer. While a corticosteroid injection won’t cure CTS, it definitely helps. Trust me.
Sorry for the long post, I sincerely hope any of this information helps ![]()
