What if a player has 0 interest in the progression aspect of the game and just wants to pvp?
You can’t just pvp in Wow, you have to gear and some people may prefer a system more like Overwatch where there is no gear and everyone is equal and you just join games and play.
bro, we’ve been asking this since the begining of the expansion. no answers. not a single one.
I’m a super casual pvper. It feels bad to run around and get owned constantly for so long just to get to the gear you need to have a chance. For something so acclaimed as skill based, loot plays too large a part.
They made it so item level scales up to 239 in solo shuffle and no further because they think that strikes the best balance between letting people experience the new game mode as intended and also letting PvP progression feel meaningful, but the only characters I’m doing solo shuffle on are characters that can’t really get any upgrades from it because they have max rank honor gear.
I’ve queued for solo shuffle a few times accidentally on my lower geared healers and I’ve been placed in matches against people like a holy paladin with a 35 ilvl advantage over the character I was playing and R1 experience
I get what your saying about hear playing too big a role in pvp, but of ppl wants to play it, do it legitimately. Carries is not legit play.
If ppl do not like gear playing a big role, then they need to suggest to Blizzard to do more to make gear less of a burden.
If you want people to PvP bump that elite set requirement down to 1400, most casual people only PvP for the transmog and 1800 simply takes too much effort and time to be even worth pvping. Now obviously those few people who actually like PvP will be against this so in the end they would rather their game mode die than adapt to attract more players.
Ideas like this blizzard needs to highlight and study them every day. Removing any type of scoring in this game should be mandatory. Wanna pvp farm currency not rating.
Well, Arena was intended for two, three, or at one time five players that knew each other and played together to compete with other groups of friends to see which Team was the best.
So the fact that it’s hard to do it alone is kind of expected? I don’t know, crazy isn’t it, expecting people to queue as a team for a team competition.
accessibility is the main issue. no new players want to queue arenas because it takes 10 years to get full renown, double legendary, set bonuses, full set of conquest/honor gear, then upgrading each of those pieces 8 times.
right now if someone who was full geared last season decided to queue up for the first time today. they would be at a 20+ ilvl disadvantage and nobody is even close to full geared yet. I have no clue why blizz insists on having such huge ilvl jumps between seasons and even between honor/conq gear.
I really like that solo shuffle! I can’t speak for everyone but I imagine a few people who played arena for fun via lfg moved to solo shuffle. I don’t do rated this time around but I’m enjoying arenas with this mode. It would be neat if gear was capped at 259 and tier bonuses disabled in solo shuffle, that would be the only thing I would change.
