How does this change make PvP better?
I guess all these casual PvPers can casually PvP in the open world. Oh noā¦
know what the highest arena rating is on Atlantiss is?
2517
Donāt expect ratings to be that much higher if theyāre using 2008 as a bench mark
It does. Yet to me that value of the titles is higher if they are not inflated with people who are just there to be fodder. These people earned it not got it because they had enough inflated numbers to be given a rank.
One of the reasons pveāers also went into arenas?
For gear to protect yourself when farming out in the open world. But now thatās closed off too
Dude even if that was true, the ppl who dislike arena or are mostly there to get in their 10 games (original system) can not be bothered to play an hour for 1300 rating. And you need these players to keep the system alive
The majority of players plays this game for the PvE content and not for PvP. You force em into spending more time than they want to committ to this, they not gonna do it. And I bet your assumption is an hour for 1300 rating on consecutive wins. They wonāt win one game after another.
Ah well, atleast arena is dead. Good thing. 2v2 meta has no place in a mass multiplayer game anyway
Sounds like that PvEer should go to a PvE server if they canāt protect themselves.
Or the person farming consumables should be able to access the same gear to put them on equal footing. I know world pvpers cry until they get an advantage over everyone else but what else is new
I really dont want these changes i think it will def promote boosting and as a non super high tiered pvper one of the best things i liked about classic wow and tbc was that eventually i could get the gear even if it wasnt as fast as the high tiered pvp players it was about the effort and time investmentā¦ this will kill that completly
for 50k a win from a booster yes
Everyone has access to the same gear in the game. There is no pay to win.
I know PvEers cry until they get gear for free, but what else is new.
For all the people saying āno one asked for thisāā¦
I did.
Good counter question:
First, the reason it doesnāt work in retail now is 2 reasons. Pve/pvp gear ilvl discrepancy. Second no resilence. This means most people will be running around with high ilvl mythic gear in retail pvp making pvp gear obsolete.
2/no resilence meaning theres not a reason to go for pvp gear besides the trinkets with increase ver by 40 percent in pvp combat. which is good, but it should just increase all pvp gear vers in pvp to make it better. idc tho retail pvp sucks nowadays because of the extra stuff every expac like azerite and covenants.
Now to why its good in tbc.
Same two reasons:
Resilence: PVP gear means something. Most people split gear in 2 streets. pvp/pve mix or all pvp depending on the class. rogues would likely go half/half pvp/pve to maximize dps/damage since they have multiple ways to live with less resilence.
This all means pvp gear means more in pvp than pve gear does for most classes. every class really because you need SOME always, no matter the class. else you will just get dusted.
Now a good reason pvp requirements help is a couple things.
Firstly, it makes you want to play and gives you a goal to achieve, thats not easy, but everyone can do it with enough time spent and dedication.
If you get there, it rewards you, its a show off braggadocios things for you. Then You want to push to the next level.
But its not SUCH a difference, that if you DONT have it you cant win or get past a certain rating.
Also, it gives different itemization once you do get the item depending on what you want to go for. Especially if you are a class that goes half/half pvp/pve.
on Season 3 onwards
rating requirements on S1 and S2 is not accurate to og tbc s1 and s2
It wonāt. You can get gear with no requirments from the previous season, which is line with what you want
thats because no one was pro back then. 3k was hit by reckful. now that people have gotten there, more people have. this will happen in tbc.
thats a little nitpicky seeing as how you can get blue honor resilence gear that acheives the same as your inexperienced rating would provide.
this is TBC PVP arenas. they arent here for pve-ers. this isnt retail not everything was handed out.
and as i have already wrote for the third time, so many people are going to be playing this arena system, the amount of people quitting over these small changes will be so few you wonāt notice.
Except it doesnāt do that, i used to purposely tank my mmr when I joined a new teamā¦
but it was
you could get a full set of s1-s2 gear ( albeit slower) by losing 10 games per week
