I agree, rating requirement gating from the get go is not good.
What I wrote earlier is the only thing I can thing of. Not a fan of this.
It will lower participation and encourage 5v5 boosts.

Well fellas you better find your Arena partner day 1 because you are prolly stuck with him for a while unless you want to grind all the way up again
haha
Knowing the changes I like them and do not understand why any of you dont. Mainly you are just saying you dont like them , and they will do this or that, but donāt give the appropriate reasoning to show why they will.
0-1500 is like 10 wins
only shoulders and weps had it back on S3
now even your legs will need rating
It couldnt possibly be that there were WAY easier ways to get gear and as long as those existed people actually never really like doing arenas.
People seem to conflate this idea that people loved arenas for whatever reason. When players used it for easy access to gear. While the TOP players enjoyed the challenges.
it will only slow the game down a bit. its a good change imo.
Not on retail lol
Of course people didnāt ask for this. Same reason they didnāt want premade vs premade in classic. Itās make it competitive and not easy modeā¦
wow arena was not dying in cata. and scrapping requirements did not revive it because it wasnt dead.
imo if you canāt get 1500 or 1800 or 2100 this shouldnt be an issue for you. if you can acheive those ratings it wont be a change either.
more like 100 if they implement the retail system wich is likely at this dark times
good thing this is TBC. MMR is present and the wins will be nothing to get to 1500.
Thats wrong, cata saw massive drop in participation thanks to incentivization of RBGS and point reward normalization across 2,3 and 5s bracket.
But its not. Read the first lines of the changes they are doing. They are putting in the retail mmr system. The retail mmr system is broken.
This is unequivocally false. PvE players playing rated games makes everyones life trying for ranks that much easier. Remember pool parties to make classic ranking easier? Itās exactly the same thing.
then you dont know the retail system.
log in a fresh character and start arenas. you can hit 1300 in 1 hour.
if you cant and its because you are losing, then you most likely will not make the ratings anyways.
everyone else has the same odds. any skill level will have the same level of gear.
mmr will be present making the jump to 1500 much easier as if you have any experience at all you will be playing against the newest players, with no gear.

What i remember of pool parties was tons of alts being made to inflate the pools so more people could get into brackets. Basically people hated the system SO much they wanted to get over it as quickly as possible.
Thats what your advocating for. I dont really like to play the game i just want to get over the bad parts faster.
Itās not a matter of people hating arena. Itās a matter of getting the rewards people want. Everyone from the 1600 challenger to the 2200 rank 1 glad will benefit from an increased pool size, just as everyone from rank 2 to rank 14 benefited from pool parties in classic.

Lol!
GL without any gearā¦

You still get the rewards even if it takes longer. Why do you need more people to get the rewards faster other than to say you have them sooner?
