Are you happy with your main? Or Would You Change?

Where exactly is the game going?

I’m not quite sure what the confusion is lol.

4 accounts…so 40 characters on one server?

(Guessing you meant to say “four characters.”)

Haha, he wants to go Disc for the spirit buff but doesnt want to lose his healing capabilities from holy. Ill have to let him try out spirit tap, thanks for the info! :] He also bubbled me early on and it was a pain to tank, he learned quick though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Until end game raiding, he can spec shadow and heal you just fine. In fact, probably better as you guys would kill crap exponentially faster.

Yeah I meant characters. I guess I assumed that was obvious lol

Would definitely have played something that can tank, if given a do over or time machine.

Hard to go back now, though :<

In Vanilla, the clear choice would have been rogue.

On a Vanilla server running an exact 1.12.1 today, the choice would be a push… either would be about equal.

In Classic, the obvious choice is mage, and it isn’t even close.

Around level 34 I was definitely disappointed with mage, got so sick of being out of mana all the time and being so squishy. I rerolled a priest, got to 32, but then figured i should finish what i started and went back to my mage. Im glad i did. Ice barrier makes life so much easier and i took the ports for granted. The burst is great too compared to priest. Im happy with my choice.

We’re at a month since launch. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a long time at all. Classic isn’t going anywhere. You have years upon years to play.

It’s tough, I like quite a few classes.

I’m happy with a priest main but find others more fun to level with.

Overall a win/win situation I suppose?

I’m happy, and I picked a warlock.

Since I started playing RPGs I’ve always leveled support classes. I told myself not this time! I’m going DPS all the way. besides, leveling a priest is a pita and mana management in classic is… well… you know

I’d play a holy paladin just the same again.

However, had my irl pals decided on horde, i would have leveled a troll priest instead.

Just meta difference or knowledge difference between then and now?

I love my main but I think I would have rolled a healer instead. We have a tank buddy covered, but it’s always a pain to find heals on our server to run things.

I’m happy I picked shaman as my main because ghost wolf is huge. I mean I love the play style of shamans, but I also love the play style of other classes. But my OCD won’t let me just buy certain class spells. I have to buy all of them while also leveling and buying all profession recipies lol. Needless to say, I’m broke at lvl 38 (less than 1g) but I’m fine if I don’t get my mount at 40. I already get 40% with ghost wolf and I’ll be able to make gold quicker after lvl 40.
I knew my main wouldn’t get his mount at 40 so I had to pick a class that already had a speed boost

I’d prolly do something else. Playing this shaman right now and while the 50-55 range always seems to suck for any class, I just don’t enjoy the shaman as much as I thot I would. Being solely dependent on windfury procs to do my real damage is a bit irritating. I knew this going in but never played a shaman in vanilla. Mobs wither die in under 15 seconds or they can last 2 mins on basic white mobs depending on windfury procs.

You might have better luck with the other weapon enhancements. Melderon explains that if you’ll YouTube his shaman guides. Windfury isn’t necessarily the way to go, especially with certain types of weapons

at the beginning I wasn’t, cause I was ding too much. But now, with more gear and abilities, I’m enjoying it. I have a alt mage, lvl 20, and it was so easy to level compared to this warrior…but I’ll keep this one till the end, then level alt to take the other professions
