Are you going to ban me for GDKP?

Gdkp =/= bots and RMT

Not only that, banning 1 did not seemingly do anything to the other.

Not true at all.

It isn’t new. It was literally coined from mobile games where you actively compete with other players.

A free player couldn’t beat a player who bought power, because they couldn’t match that power by playing normally.

P2w is literally buying player power you can’t match in game.

Like if they sold a stronger weapon on the cash shop, you skip the raid, you skip beating a boss and you skip loot RNG and the item off the shop is stronger than any other item in game.

That’s literally pay 2 win

It didn’t solve botting, that’s for sure. But how do you know it did nothing to RMT sales?

And do you not see how GDKPs are in any bit related to RMT? Seems very obvious that people could buy gold to spend for gear in raids.

The pay2win argument is ridiculous. So you “earn” the loot by winning a roll and I dont by paying gold after defeating the boss same as you? Give me a break.

That’s part of pay2win, but not all of it. It’s paying for any advantage… Be it a special sword, increased loot drop chance or just buying raid gear.

You’re paying to win not paying to get better gear than it’s possible normally.

Winning in WoW is essentially getting BiS gear or a rating etc.

To be fair, P2W has changed a lot.

Like Diablo Immortal by that definition might not be P2W, since I don’t think there’s things you can outright buy that you can’t get otherwise, but you’d basically need to no-life the game compared to someone that constantly juices their runs.

Yes – Blizzard is banning players that participate in GDKPs.

There is no advantage, you could buy 1 billion gold and the item you bought the gold for never drops.

Thats literally the opposite of pay 2 win.

My gm in TBCC could of bought all the gold in the game and we still never saw a main hand warglaive.

Almost like cash shops in real p2w games remove this rng…

That’s the thing sometimes they don’t… You just get more chances.

The chance part doesn’t matter.

You do have an advantage when it drops. Instead of needing DKP, a loot council, nice friends etc…

You just buy it.

You paid to win.

You’re getting something other people worked for with money.

I dont see how anything he said wasn’t actually a fact.

If someone is joining a run to pay for an item, and the item doesn’t drop then there was no P2W in that GDKP.

You’re right!

But if it does…

There was P2W.

Which is the entire argument.

If they didn’t pay actual money for the gold then it was never p2w in the first place.

You guys love to just make up numbers because you want to believe so badly that every GDKP is littered with RMT and the items are “so expensive” that no normal player could afford them which is actually an insane take.

Oh so it took you 7 weeks to get the item you bought gold for and in that 7 weeks THOUSANDS of other players got it for free.

You heard it here folks, its pay 2 win.

True, but we don’t know that. Also that’s not what Drink is saying.

If you use a WoW token to buy gold then go and spend that gold getting BiS gear by just outspending everyone…

Then it’s P2W.

If you buy a WoW token you aren’t breaking the ToS

I see no issue here. And this is not what the thread is about. Its about SoD.

Bad luck is not part of the definition of P2W.

When it does drop, you know you will win it because you have the money.

Other people have to hope, have GDKP etc…

You just bought it.

P2W requires the W in P2W (W) to actually happen.

If they aren’t winning, then how is it P2W?

What if someone bought more gold?

Yes it is, because actually paying 2 win bypasses this, this is why your definition is 100% wrong.

You paid to win the loot when it dropped.

Sorry if you thought what you were doing all this time wasn’t pay 2 win, but it is.

People think xp boosts aren’t pay 2 win either…

But they are. 100% pay to win.
