Are you excited about Shadowlands?

Then don’t—go play something else. It’s ok to move on to other games if you’re not enjoying this one.

  1. More borrowed power (because artifacts, legion legendaries, azerite traits, and essences weren’t enough…)
  2. More D3 Rift-type content (because visions weren’t a snoozefest… /sarcasm)
  3. Aoe cap, which never works well in MMOs (I’ve seen it 2 times already, and it’s always a train wreck)
  4. Covenants are still fairly locked in, because being able to change specs only once a week like it’s 2004 is apparently a good thing.

And, oh yes, my favorite current spec in the game is getting nerfed into the ground because people whine about world pvp.

But hey, I can change my eyebrows independently of my face. Hurrah.

I don’t ever feel ‘excited’ anymore unfortunately. And no I don’t follow streamers, youtubers etc 'cause their opinion is severely biased and content creators really just do intentional views to get clicks.

From what I gather, a part from some stuff, lots of people are enjoying Shadowlands and how it’s shaping up.

Personally I have nothing that I do in the game to take advantage of the new dungeons or raids, and torghast is not enough of a reason to buy shadowlands FOR ME.

I’m seeing more of the typical Blizz decisions mixed with an obvious want to come across as ‘we are listening’ to get as much of the player bases’ interest for Shadowlands after how BFA was received.

i get less and less excited as details of the actual systems come out.

with blizzard leaving most of the professions in the gold making gutter to protect RMT, locked covenants, forced torghast, imba legos. im sure its going to be another massive “idk why but im not loving it” expac for most of the player base.

Customization options are the only thing I’m excited about. Everything else looks meh.

The problem is BlizZard believes that BFA systems are a winning formula if they front load them instead of having them spread out.

I’m expecting to skip it. I figure players will suffer through these onerous restrictions until some mid-expansion trigger for “too many subs lost” kicks in, at which time they will implement a series of band-aid fixes that will only partially fix the worst issues for only some players. But everybody will have to grind, even those who are intended to get nothing from the fix.

I think this is the expansion intended to either turn casuals into hardcores or force them out. Watch the playerbase circling the drain.

My prediction is that systemlands arrival will end the borrowed power and rental systems shenanigans for the next expansion. :+1: :100:

I’m in this boat as well.
I don’t think it can be nearly as bad as BfA and WoD, but I could be wrong. Based on what I’ve seen, I actually am somewhat excited but I’m not going to jump on any hype train over it.

I believe it will be a good expansion but I’m also going to be much more mentally prepared if it flops and will not hesitate to cancel sub at any point in time I feel unsatisfied with the way things could go.

Systemlands can’t be as bad as BFA…

Oooooooh boy y’all are in for a big surprise in a few weeks.

I mean some bfa classes felt alright with essences if a bit generic. The main problem is azerite armor was a lottery and most traits were pointless. At least they are focusing on a few abilities per class. If the systems are actually obtainable then that is a good thing, systems themselves are not inherently bad. The only reservation I have is abilities being tied to certain covenants. Legendaries seem like a good system and conduits are changing in the right direction. On top of that a lot of specs feel much better in the beta than live.

Once again Im not sure why people who didn’t do any content in bfa complain about it the most. It certainly wasn’t a good expansion but not every part of it was horrible. The more embarrassing thing is people still subbed to a game they don’t enjoy.

I’m excited for BFA to be over. Still not sure what class to play though.

Battle for Abilities will carry on some of its legacy with systemlands. :+1: You might be safe playing Rogue. That is assuming BlizZard decides to finish Rogue. :+1: :100:

Not getting it so I don’t care. My son is I will see what he thinks. Then decide if I will get it maybe 2 years in.

Yeah.

Galo Sengen.

Im excited for choice out of the weekly M+ chest, the Maw and Torghast seem fun as well. The first raid being castle themed looks awesome, one of BFAs biggest downfalls for me was the raids being really boring. Im excited for corruption to be gone but that doesn’t really speak to SL as much as it does to how bad BFA has been.

still a little worried about covenants in general, im not sold these will be anything more then a pain in the a** with very little fun factor.

All in all im optimistic it will be better then BFA.

I am trying to stay positive, but I am also going out of my way to not read much about it. Want to be surprised as I discover things.

Only thing I really looked into so far is the new start area and Chromie Time. Both those aspects seem like they will be a lot of fun.

I’m cool with it. I’m gonna look hot.

It’s no more visions for end game content so I’m down

This is honestly the only reason why I bought SL. I plan on locking my character at 50 and keeping them that way.

These two things alone make me want to go ahead and buy it.

In every wow expansion I’ve had at least one zone (usually multiple) that I say “OMG I LOVE THAT IT LOOKS AMAZING”. BFA is the first expansion that didn’t have that for me. Jungle, swamp, desert…bleh. Stormsong was nice but not quite there, same with Drustvar, it was cool but not blow my hair back cool.

All the zones in SL look to be top notch. I also watched a raid preview of the castle and man…it reminds me of kara a bit in all the best ways.
