Are you a clicker

when I switched I actually leveled another character of the same class/spec. That way I built the muscle memory from the ground up. Not saying for you to do it, just imparting what worked for me.

You walked right into a meaningless tribalism argument.

You two may as well be arguing about your favorite sports teams.

There is no reason nor benefit to clicking any spell that is part of your rotation. And doing so is simply lazy.
Hopefully this isn’t a hot take. I’m too lazy to read 61 replies at 9PM.

But spells like conjure portal, eye of kilrogg? Hell. I don’t even think I have Eye of Kilrogg on my bars. I open the spell book for that.

Is not tribalism, is informational. What I said is how it be :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey I’ll have no parts of it  You guys have fun.

High APM doesn’t mean a variety in buttons pressed. You’re just mashing the same 3-4 buttons.

I would suggest that you have already participated. The act of declaring your position on the matter is participatory.

Only thing I really click anymore are Healthpots/stones and CDs. Depeneds on the spec of course but most of the time CDs are unbound. Tryin to get use to some Alt modifers and that will hopefully shore that up, definitely times I am not fast enough on a CD, matters a little less in Raids but PvP it does slip me up sometimes.

A “MMO mouse” is a great investment as it can give you access to keys you may not normally use like 7-0 and you can throw those on mod keys as well giving you a bunch of new possible keybinds.

Well ima old man and I have never been good on a keyboard. I still type with 2-3 fingers lol. But evrything you said I will try. Looks like thats a good starting point.

But, I am pretty fast at clicking. I have my UI set up so I don’t really have to look at my bars. I know where everything is.

It took me a few months to make the change but I’m a slow learner

That right there is good advice.

Was a clicker the first day or two I played but very quickly realized the fact that the spells on the hotbar corresponded to the keys on my keyboard.

For arena you definitely need keybinds.

I do a mix of click and/or keybinds.

Anything beyond 6 is a modifier of ctrl, shift, or alt plus e, r, d, f, c, or v.

Easy to access.

It just takes practice. For continuity I tend to make one keybind my CC across all classes, etc.

I got the hang of changed keybinds in about a week or so.

Mileage may vary.

For summon portal, lock font, and mass rez abilities.

Does having my spells bound to my mouse buttons count as being a clicker?

Full blown? No idea. I can’t imagine playing like that. There are some basic abilities I’ve always had on a bind, but in the past I’ve clicked things too. I do find it easiest when I change up a bind to go do some pvp to get used to it. When you set it up, keep in mind what your most frequently used abilities are and put those on easy to push buttons. The less you use an ability, the harder you can make it to use. Cooldowns make easy to use, but difficult to use on accident. As a rogue you don’t really have it, but things like heroism put on a button you basically can’t do on accident. As a warrior, I changed up a bind once and because of which, started hitting my taunt on accident, so I had to change that button too.

Just get a mmo mouse

They are difficult to use just out of the box. They used to come with trainers, which were little tab that you could stick to the button in a pattern you could detect by feel. If you decide to try one, and it doesn’t come with such a trainer, you can try sticking something else to it. I used a pattern like this with the X being the tab and the O being tabless.

XOX
OXO
XOX
OOO

I didn’t put a tab on the last row because it was difficult to move my thumb like that and I’d catch the middle button trying.

full keybinds, I have shift and ctrl bound to my mouse buttons, so I use EQRFT1234 and F1 and F2 for utility such as buffs and or lust as well as it’s modifiers through shift and ctrl. Also X for mount and V for racial.
