Are we slavemasters to the proto-drake mounts?!

Since we ride Proto-drakes and are often far away from the Aspects or anyone who’s loyal to them when doing so, how would they suppress that? If the Proto-drakes were sentient, they could communicate it in other ways.

Re-read the quest and npc text in the quest wherein you receive your protodrake.

The “some Proto-Dragons are sentient, some aren’t” situation is the kind of lore bit that doesn’t make any lick of sense but the writers expect you not to question any further because it really only exists for gameplay purposes. Just like the Centaur thing

Lorewise we are not “dragonriding” the proto-drakes. The into quest make it quite clear the 4 initial dragons we get to ride are suppose to represent the 4 flights(hence their colors) and the only reason they look the way they do is due to the gameplay reason of they would all look boring if they all just looked like dragons.

are you a slave master to a horse you ride? It’s just dumb animal, only big magic ones can even speak

The Quest doesn’t say for certain what sort of Dragon the one we are starting our Dragonriding with.

At the very least the 2-legged Velocidragons and Wylderdragons are proper members of the 5 Great Dragonflights just as the Highlands Dragons are.

Seems that 4 Legs is not enforced on proper Dragons.

Ironically some Velocidrakes can have the beaks that some Protodrakes including Raszageth have. Raszageth is the only Air Protodragon with that particular beak despite normal Protodrakes sometimes having them.

Fun Fact: Vyranoth has the same Model as every other Frost Protodragon whereas Fyrakk at least has horns made of Fire jutting backward and a lower mandible like Raszageth unlike his fellow Fire Protodragons. …She is going to be eaten by Iridikron for more power isn’t she?

Some of the issues are caused by game mechanics.

The proto-drake mounts we got from Northrend are just standard mount skins, so they can not be integrated into the dragonriding mechanics.

Technically the mounts we gain are willing partners, not beasts of burden, nor slaves.
