Are we gonna start ID carding? New Florida Law

That’s why they worded the bill to focus in on things like social media features rather than speech to skirt 1st amendment.

Regardless, I don’t look forward to being carded to play WoW or login to snoo snoo.

You know what, I hate that law…but who am I to argue that everyone in Florida having to give up their internet anonymity is a bad thing?

I’m sure it will help law enforcement track down anyone making crazy internet posts…and anyone wanting to sue someone for what they post.

I’m sure that is exactly what the Florida voters wanted, lol.

The wildest part is people get paid extraordinary amounts of money to discuss the plausibility of this kind of law. I wish I got paid extraordinary amounts of money to listen to nonsensical ideas and be like, “sure, maybe that is a good idea,” without the risk of getting laughed out of my career and immediately fired.

There are two different realities in this world, I swear.

Even if they did do this it wouldn’t apply to anyone anywhere else except people in Florida so my vibe is you get what you vote for honestly.

Florida Man Caught Running State Legislature

Post is legit and does concern WoW players from Florida, but now I’m posting funny reaction video comments.

As someone knowledgeable about such things, it is very clear this bill is an overreach, and will be struck down in the courts.

The bill affects snoo snoo websites and discord, not just social media and live service games with a chatbox, so it’s gonna upset a lot of people. Even if it weren’t to be struck down, it’s a good way to get voted out.

It already passed the state house and senate, and desantis is going to sign it this week.

isnt this something thats on the parents? I thought I read that it wasnt like we’re gonna have to literally show ID. just if something happens and parents werent doing their due diligence they could be charged or something.

The bill explicitly overrides the parental consent and denies even with it.

So that would be interesting when it comes to bg’s.

Other states already have similar laws for adult content, so it wouldn’t be much of a stretch for them to expand it to include social media. Especially if Florida’s law survives the court challenges.

But yeah, it’s states with similar political leanings to Florida.

Adult content I can understand otherwise though I wanna feel sorry for people in red states but again you get what you vote for honestly so I have mixed feelings because they don’t have to put up with stuff like that.

What do laws in the third world have to do with WoW?

Well, if LE wants to go after someone, they can already subpoena account information with a very low standard.
