Q: Once the expansionâs out, how soon will we be flying?
A: âAbout the same as Legion.â Theyâre happy with how Legion played out. They want players to explore the world and get to know it before earning the convenience of flying. Once youâve seen all of the nooks and crannies, being able to skip over them in the air is a good reward.

So you both are right because he didnât say âexactly the same,â and he did use the words, âthe same.â
Edited because the way the page was written, it looked like the remainder of the information was still for patch 8.1.5, but it was actually for 8.2. So Ion Hazzikostas did say that flying would be in patch 8.2 in that interview. It still isnât the same timing as Legion, even though itâs the same patch number, and flying should be added to the game in patch 8.1.5. There is no true reason to delay it, imo.

(Pathfinder II was put into the game 7 months into Legion. Patch 8.1.5 will be 7 months into BfA, so âabout the same.â)

It would be nice to have those pvp talents back as baseline abilities that donât require PVP flagging. Also I agree if it wasnât for all the bonus stuff they are giving to encourage Warmode I would guess at least 75% of people using it would drop it (if not more). I have been running with Warmode on to level from 110 to 120 and I hardly ever see anyone. The few times I do its usually near an invasion area.
Also per some other topics Warmode isnât enough reason to leave flying disabled. IF Blizzard really thinks flight will ruin world PVP then yea disable flight in zones WOD+ with Warmode enabled.
Ion and team are slowly trying to wait out the pro flyers and wear them down. They will then try another flying coup for it to be removed.
The standard is set for how they treat flying. Only way it will change is for us, the player base for next expansion to not buy/sub till it is in that 9.1.5 patch or just stop playing.
To those that are fine with how it is thatâs fine, keep playing and enjoying. Ion and team will soon come for what you enjoy.
Because itâs not a big deal, bfa is tiny, takes 2 minutes to run from one side of a zone to the other on a ground mount, and you have 5min cd flight whistles, they just throw flying in later to keep the gd noobs happy
With timing, though, 8.1.5 would be âabout the sameâ because itâs 7 months into the expansion. Patch 8.2 will be at least 10 months into the expansion, most likely.
